Because it's been really fun this year while watching all 7 develop alongside of one of the NBA's most dynamic/dominant duo's @ PG/PF in Jalen Brunson/Julius Randle (All-Stars X2).

My ultimate (fan goal) is to watch our Front Office trade away the likes of Evan Fournier/Derrick Rose + a lot of our draft capital in order to add fire power to this current roster.

3 Years from today:

Let these young men develop alongside of one another for the next 3+ years, become battle tested throughout the Playoffs together and you never know; we could be looking @ an NBA Championship (winning) Roster (within the makings).

You like just wake up from a coma and feel freaking amazingly good? We beat cleveland and Boston and NYMentality is like freed up and back at it!
Reality is that roster is not going to be glued like that for 3 years.
Not to be negative, but its ok to not know the future and feel optimistic.
I don’t know the path or how this all ends up, I just know starphucking won’t deliver us to the promise land.
Im with you in spirit and root that all our guys do well, have good trade value, and make big bank as they can’t all do it here. In return we have new kids to root for and perhaps even better than the guys that were traded. All the while salary cap goes up and our core on good contracts now keep improving! Mostly good comes from that.

LoL na. It's just the booing and the constant dislike of Julius Randle had rubbed me the wrong way (dating back to last year) so this year I've just been reading and not posting and toasting. But the more I've thought about it the more I've realized that me walking away as a poster was stupid of me. I'm finally enjoying this roster (especially) without Evan Fournier and have to realize not every fan will share my same viewpoints nor agree with my opinions.

Yeah. I mean. I don't know which teams utilize their 6th men off the bench etc but Immanuel Quickley is more than just a "6th man". He's averaging a career high of 27.4 minutes per game (5th most on the team) and he's flourishing because of it. He's actually averaging 35.5 minutes per game throughout his previous 15 games too. He might not be starting but he's absolutely getting absolute, starter minutes.

I hear you man. The Nets will always be the New Joirseee Nets to me. I have lived in Brooklyn some. But most of my life I have lived in Queens, Woodhaven. I don't remember us having so much homegrown talent on the team ever and I have been a fan for almost 30 years. This is the second most exciting time to be a fan. Those late 90ies still have a special place in my heart. You know what tho? This team has potential and is so much fun to enjoy seeing player growth. Durant and Kyrie can $uck it easy. This year's playoffs I am gonna go nuts, completely nuts. Live games start at like 3:30 am for me and I am gonna watch every single one of them

As I've stated elsewhere i have no hate for Brooklyn the borough (I have lived there for decades!) or even the team (always pulled for them prior to "the Big 3"). And notwithstanding the odiousness of Kyrie or the plain offputtingness of KD, Harden, and Simmons (and their brown nosing media butt boys) - and the whole Super Friends "we coach and GM ourselves" mindset - I think it is traditional to root against the arrogant big bully. No one liked the Patriots unless they were your team. And despite their obvious talent and probably other virtues these guys along with Lebron and the Lakers represent that to me. Sulking, complaining, manipulating (maybe cheating?) - passive aggressively if not just aggressively - until they get their way. And in turn bringing a franchise to its knees and destruction! Hyperbole of course, but that is the dynamic to me. And which yeah gives me petty joy

I also live in the Carolinas but I'm from NYC. I have no hate for Brooklyn although those teams with J Kidd, Martin and Jefferson that disrespected us pissed me off at the time. The team we had with Kidd, Rasheed and Melo was one of the most fun seasons that I can remember since Spreewell. I think its pretty hilarious that when we play at Barclay their arena is full of Knicks fans and I have to wonder whatever happened to that billboard the Nets put up across from MSG when they thought they were claiming the City. Some stupid ish on their part but I really can't hate on them.

They have a deep team with guys who play their asses off. I certainly wouldn't look past them as they might beat us on any given night. I guess we'll find out what they got on Monday when we play them. We are going to have to bring the effort and defense if we want to win that game.

But you only have like 3 years with them before you need to make choices about who's going to get paid the big bucks.

Looking to next season, there are some interesting choices to be made regarding Quickley and Obi.

Quickley: I think he's shown enough that another team *could* offer him something along the lines of a $25-30m deal. (Think somewhere along the lines of Brunson/Poole/Herro/RJ/Simons) Given his current production, it seems like a lot, but other teams may see Brunson-like potential waiting to be unlocked in the right role. Right now Quickley is a bit riskier than all of those players I listed - he hasn't produced tangible numbers like them. His magic is his advanced stats that say his team is elite when he's on the floor and isn't when he's not. If Quickley wants to maximize his money and his potential, he probably should leave - but he's a welcome contributor on our team.

Obi: I think the Knicks like him, but a fact of life is that he's on the same team as an all-NBA player at the same position and doesn't have the versatility to swing to center or SF. He's a bit of luxury insurance in the event Randle gets hurt - but he's been a rock! He's shown enough with extended minutes that another team could offer him $10-15m on the open market (think Bobby Portis's Knick contract; Marvin Bagley), perhaps going for $20m (Aaron Gordon) if he ever gets the opportunity to showcase himself. I don't think Obi is worth that as mere injury insurance.

In any case, we still have both of them for cheap until the end of next season. Let's see where things shake out.
