He should start away from 3ptrs until he scores some easy ones. In don't know why all his shots are 3 ptrs
He hits them in the Gleague. He is 23 and still a work in progress.
Modern NBA PG this 3pt thing is a required skill. If not, he won’t stick.
And, what martin said.
Yes he’s lights out in the gleague. I know it’s a different level but it’s almost like the hoops are bigger there. Eventually his shooting needs to come around a little.
It's confidence and increased skill level / NBA athletes. So those same open looks in the GLeague, will be slightly open in the NBA, which can cause you to 2nd guess those jumpers, especially if you're not a natural shooter. As his confidence increases, his jumpers will start to fall.
The one issue I see with Deuce is his first step move is either non-existent or too slow. Thats the difference in speed as well GLeague vs NBA. But the rim size and 3pt range is the same, so it's mostly a confidence thing for Deuce on wide open 3s. And improving his 1st step moves in the off season, will help him a lot. If Thibs makes Deuce a permanent rotation player, I would bet all of this will be smoothed out by the end of the season. Game time minutes is the best experience, so this is an opportunity of a lifetime for Deuce. Thibs sitting Cam and his favorite son? Thats huge. Hope Deuce takes full advantage!
