Mikal Bridges was definitely who I wanted the Knicks to draft. I agree that Mitchell was not on anyone’s radar. He was a slightly undersized SG who did not seem like he could run the point. People overlooked his shot creation ability.

I agree you can easily be overcritical of draft picks. I let most of them slide but not Knox, that was just a whiff when the next 3 guys drafted all pan out (at least on the court). I thought Mikal was a lock on draft night and so did other sports journalists.

Mikal is the one I wanted the Knicks to draft. I wasn’t upset about Frank bc I understood where they were coming from but Mikal was my number 1 then and while maybe Supremecommander spoke about him, not many others did. You know who else did not talk about Spider? Stephen A Smith. He was all over the Knicks not drafting DSJ, as was LeBron! Not a single mention of Spider by them at the time. Now I’m not sure about LeBron now but SAS still blasts the Knicks for not drafting Spider, as if he said it all the time then. He never did back then. I respect SAS for his overall career but as a Knick fan reporting the news, I lost all respect for him then. Especially after he went nuts on the Knicks drafting Porzingis. I thought that was wrong too.
