I’d love to see him be available for some games.

If the NBA grants us a 16th roster spot sign me up. Otherwise, who goes?

Definite no with Thibs coaching as it would definitely hinder development of several young players.

We have roster spots.

I want to see the youth play as well, but still gotta earn those minutes. I thought McBride deserved PG minutes more than Burks. So I wanted him to get them. But McBride needs to take his minutes from Rose. Earn that PT.

I think Toppin earned his minutes from Randle and I wanted to see him get them. Still do. But nothing is free.

I think Grimes deserves some of Fournier’s minutes. But he has to get past IQ to get them. That’s a brawl that may need to get resolved.

I prefer Barrett at SG and would toss him into that pile above. But they don’t really have another SF. Reddish is there and he can earn minutes, but nothing for free. If he can’t earn those minutes from a 38 year old Melo, I mean, does he deserve him.

And if Reddish does earn those minutes from Melo. And McBride earns those minutes from Rose. Aren’t they better players for having these guys around? My last 5 roster spots are for aging vets who are valuable just being in the locker room. And if the youths can’t earn their minutes vs these guys, well, then they don’t deserve them.

My issue is when I think they earned those minutes and Thibs isn’t handing them out. Not that they have to earn those minutes.

Come to camp ready to be better than Melo. That’s my solution.

Bring Melo home.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Believe that is what Melo would say as well. He is not looking to spend his last couple of years with the Knicks.

Naw .. I liked Amare at the Knicks PF position ten times more than Melo's PF performance.
It's like Obi Toppin's transition alley-oop Dunk (excitement), to Randle's ball-stopper half-court offense.

I highly doubt that.

Why would he want to come here? To play on a 8-10 seed? He wants a chip.

Because he realizes no one will appreciate his hat game the way fans at MSG do?

How do we speak for what he wants?

But lets pretend we understand his choices first:

1. Lakers have a new coach. Will he fit into that schematic and rotation? Can a healthy trio of HOF's as they currently are actually compete. Vegas thinks so.
Add Kyrie?

2. If a laker, and not in rotation, what are his choices? Sit and perhaps play if an injury occurs? Ride the bench and be celebrated as a final dance type season?
3. If so, would he do it as a knick? Or a Nugget as well?
4. Other teams? Warriors? Miami? Obvious reasons. Celtics have addressed shooting with Gallo, but a team that needed shooting in the playoffs he could provide a boost.

I doubt money factors into any of this.

What are his choices. Not "I know what he is thinking". We don't.

Dinner with Dolan? Jimmy paid him a lot of money and Melo does own a stake in a soccer club in Puerto Rico. They have a history together at some level. Maybe there is an agenda, or maybe just old friends catching up.

No to Melo! We need to play Reddish and Grimes so they can developed into premier basktball players. Bringing melo here would hinder that goal. Play the kids. Enough with these washed up vets..

I don't see Thibs being a coach to buy into a farewell tour. He'd much rather play his starters 48 minutes. I can see Melo racking up plenty of DNP-CD if he were to come home. I saw a couple of days ago on FB that Golden State was interested in Melo. That would be a much better situation for him to chase a ring and get meaningful play time. Melo is about 300 pts from passing Shaq on the all time scoring list, so that and a ring would be a nice end to his career.

If we were in a scenario where we packaged Cam with Fournier in a trade, I'd be open to a Melo goodbye tour.

That said, hoping we do not trade Cam. Would rather see what we have in him. Young, lengthy 3, history with RJ. If he doesn't pan out, he doesn't pan out.

He’s done. Loved him while he was here but please- why not sign Ewing to be the back up C too?

Suit him up! He can be our new Theo.

Every game put him up on the big screen around the third quarter. Let the crowd show their appreciation.

In between rooting for the yutes he can relax and ice his knees.

Bring Melo in and let Randle, Cam, and RJ workout with him for a season. I mean as much as unfortunate situation Kemba was, it looks like IQ actually learned some moves from him during the season.

I would love to Melo finish out his career with the Knicks. I think he would have a positive effect on RJ, Reddish, and Grimes.

However, I think with maybe 1 more year left in the tank I think he'll want to sign somewhere where he feels he can finally get his ring. I just don't know what contender will want his services.

Elf is also available. How is this even possible?
