That’s a pretty interesting team

I'd do Murray for Barett and a 1st straight up.

How about Randle and 2 or 3 of those recently acquired/complicated 1st rounders for D.Murray and Zach Collins? We'd be set at PG with IQ as his backup. Murray still has growth/star potential and plays top notch defense. Brunson is a fine player but Murray could be a game changer for us.

Remember there is also the stretch provision if we struggle to find a salary dump trade. Not ideal, but an emergency option if needed.

That's what's getting me nervous about this off season - treating Brunson like an emergency.

Scarier than that... what's our backup plan? I'd feel better about keeping the course. If you can dump vets and you strike out, fine. Seeing word about trading Cam for space now?

Don't be nervous. The Knicks sit at $16M in cap space. IF Brunson tells you he wants to come to Knicks, his ask will mostly likely be in the $20-25M range. Knicks are either a Cam or Burks trade away from being in that range.

In addition to the teams that have cap space, there are additional teams that have TPE's that want to get better, ie Boston, Brooklyn, Dallas (LOL), Clippers, Portland.

In addition to those teams, there are a bunch of other teams who have players that don't have full guarantees for that player; for instance, POR has Eric Bledsoe on a $19M contract where only $4M is guaranteed.

It will cost them but the Knicks have options still.

Very fair. Cap space does not need to be used this summer if we strike out and can use it to our advantage between now and the deadline.

But I'll still be holding my breath week 1 of Free Agency...

Why would we trade a talented wing making 5 mil per year? (Cam Reddish)

He won't be making $5M for long and we still don't know if he's worth extending. If this keeps up, he won't have any value left.

Reddish is RFA after next season. If he has value we can match

Most likely next to go is Burks. He’s actually a good player and an expiring contract. We will have to throw in Keels and or one of the future conditional firsts but whatever
