What can he do? This is what Randle is. There’s a reason he has one playoff appearance in 8 years as a NBA player.

I think we make the play-in this year. If Obi didn’t look putrid in his two starts I’d be all for trading Randle at the deadline

2 years ago Randle was just a PF with some mediocre NBA play. Last year he elevated his game tremendously entering all NBA team discussion.

You think players don't evolve or only do so in a straight line?

I don't care for Randle as a player but I'm not oblivious to the fact that he can't change.

And playoffs, no playoffs ain't on just one player, that's just not a smart statement at all

Even before last season when posters here were calling Randle a loser and screaming for Perry to dump him somewhere I said he could still be a piece on a competitive team. He has improved but this and last year is his ceiling he’s not developing into Lebron James in a couple years, he’s 27 and this is as good as he can be

I think he's a little off his rocker I remember him telling us of all on the Jets forum heading into the season how RYAN FITZPATRICK is a top 10 NFL QB and now he swears Julius Randle can't improve at 27. But that's Phil for ya. And over the years I've learned to appreciate his wild views.

MDA had no defensive plan (switch on everything)

THIBS has no offensive plan (read and react as best as you could)

When your team is down their main 2 PGs and your 2 high usage players are awful passers, what genius offensive system do you expect the coach to run?

Knicks run a lot of predetermined sets, Horns, Pistol Action, PnR. They are god awful when they do iso Randle.

What are you suggesting they should run?

its so stupid man... like this pitcher cant strike guys out, must be the coach not pushing him to "throw harder"

Fun dimes

You got 20 plus years of hindisight to back that up.
Don Chaney was a former COY and well respected to coach a team that was really not going anywhere.
IT would be Nine years more before Thibs was given a head coaching job in Chicago. He was hired in boston to be associate head coach to Rivers. After he left NY and was assistant in Houston.

Considering the decline of Randle and RJ and having Rose and Noel miss so many games (both were key last season), I think Thibs is doing a good job keeping us at around .500. I don't think he's done as good a job as last season but he's not a miracle worker either (last season WAS a miracle). My biggest issues with Thibs is him not 'punishing' Randle and RJ when they play lazy and I also think he needs to find a way to get Obi more minutes. I hate that we spent an 8th pick on a backup PF. I think Thibs should play both Randle and Obi like 5-6 minutes in the second quarter and just live with the results. But at the same time Obi needs to do something with his minutes and he's been too inconsistent. I'd also like to see Deuce get some time. There is some Ward/Childs skill there.

Cheney was trash that year and to top it all off Layden extended him after it was obvious he wasn’t a head coach and the team missed the playoffs

Everyone rips Isiah and deservedly so but Layden was actually worse if such a thing is possible

No one was a harsher critic of Fitz then me on that site so I have no idea what you’re talking about

I’ll let the delusional jets fans who think Robert Saleh and Zach Wilson are the next Belichick and Brady circle jerk eachother over 4-13
