You know what trade I'd go for?

JGrant, Saddiq Bey for Randle, Burks, etc. No idea what that "etc" would be, also the salaries don't really match but it's more the idea I'm going for.

Maybe it's a hint of a step back in top line talent - Randle is more valuable and overall better - but I think it gets you 2 guys who are more role players who are defenders and ball movers and fills the SF/PF spots better. Cleans room for others to step up in Randle's absence.

Detroit gets a guy they can temporarily build around and offensive focal point to help Cade and the other young guys.

I’m not ready to give up on Randle. I believe there’s a middle ground between what we had last year and what we are seeing right now from him. I like Grant and Bey though.

There is a middle ground. Randle just needs to cut down on dumb turnovers and show more intensity on defense. His contract is not great but I’ve seen and lived through way, way worse
