Knicks probably never sign Fournier if they get kemba first. The idea is to get the offense going, but when Fournier turns into this player most nights, suddenly it pulls the Knicks away from their identity with nothing to make up for it. If nothing changes fast, knicks probably need to attach a first round pick to Fournier for a trade and replace him with an energy wing who can play defense and make open shots. Kind of like Bullock. Or maybe Grimes is that player. It has to be an energy player though who can infect the starting 5 to keep the energy high.
What's so wrong about Burks as a starting SG? Starting PG, no. He's not a floor general or a good distributor. But he can shoot, and defend.
Burks is awesome. Just doesn;t seem to have that same impact as a starter. He;s also a player who has an extensive injury history. Hes so good off the bench. I;d rather keep him in the role he excels in.

Well, meanwhile EF is far from excelling in his role

I completely agree. He may end up being this team’s Payton, who starts but only sees real minutes when he’s hot.

You did? Fournier had one sequence with a steal but otherwise he got touched by a G League player.

Hey! How did Tommy Beer miss this?

We're 2-0 when Fournier scores no points!

Fantasy Update. I officially dropped Fournier for Malik Monk. Not sure if that's a bad look on EF or that Malik Monk is under valued and just started to rack up some consistent games, scoring 20 plus the last 6 or 7 games. Eitherway, EF is gone. Monk is somebody I wanted the knicks to draft and lately Bron appears to trust Monk and he's currently taking off.

Good for him. It was surprising to see such a good shooter be such a bust. I guess the change of scenery and playing next to Bron can do wonders

So the Knicks are actually pretty good defensively when Fournier is on the bench ? Maybe there’s some hope for this team yet.

We need to be honest with Fournier, he looks nothing like he did in Orland, Boston, and definitely not the Olympics.

Is it the system

The players around him

Fatigue from the Olympics

Or a combination from all 3

Defensively he just seems to have a very low IQ, and is not a physical player

He's hurt, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Still, we have options to give him time to heal. I appreciate it when guys play when they're banged up, but don't keep rolling them out when they're clearly hurting the team

well you got this one right. I was not a fan of the signing but he's not been the player we thought we were getting. He looks lethargic and is really streaky. Seems there are days his tank is just low. Could be a covid thing for all I know, but the eye test is legit here as well. Team isnt good with him on the floor (analytics) and he flunks the eye test. Gets hot periodically but doesnt balance the lack of everything else.

So we just need Thibs to remove him from the rotation for a week or so, and then he'll come back and score 63 at MSG!

I’m on board with playing EF every other week. Or every other month.

I think There’s not enough balls to go around when u add Kemba. This team needs a playmaking PG who looks to create for others. A scoring PG like Kemba hurts EF and others offense. Kemba is a volume shooter but so is EF, RJ and Randle.

I posted this in the game thread but it's only right I post it here too.

I'll eat my EF crow tonight.

Evan Fournier =
41 BIG TIME Minutes.
41 POINTS!
8 Rebounds?!?
2 Assists.
1 Steal.
FG = 15/25.
3PT = 10/14 @ .714%?!?
Game High +/- of +18?!?!?

After his performance tonight?

I think I'm going to leave Evan Fournier alone as my NY whipping boy (and give him a shot moving forward) because if he can somehow pull off a postseason playoffs performance similar to tonight's? He'll become one of our fan favorites.

I think it could be all mental for Evan Fournier. Because something about playing against his former Boston team just simply puts him into a MENTAL ZONE where he's locked in, fully focused and shoots with NO FEAR.

NUTS.

Knicks should have been blown out by 25+ tonight but Fournier played the game of his life and RJ hit the bank shot
