Knicks have some young guys who play hard and may or may not be playoff quality NBA players. None of them have shown they are consistent to be that (yet). There isnt a single guy in that group that is even close to inspiring enough to build a team around. Thats not hate, thats an honest view.

For some perspective... Lakers traded

Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, De'Andre Hunter, Brandon Ingram

For Anthony Davis. Of the guys you mentioned are any as good or talented as Ingram or Ball? Right now looks like we have some Harts and Hunters but are short on the Ingram and Lonzo tier guys (maybe RJ, but he's NOT shown it this year)

So to sum up the Knicks HAVE young players. Whether or not any are very good remains to be seen, and if we were trade them all in now whats the value? At best an older 2nd tier star like one of the Portland guards or Bradley Beal or Brandon Ingram.

I love all our young guys. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out. No pretending were are sitting on a mound of talent. Im just glad we are using the draft and developing guys. We WONT get lucky without doing what we are doing (like finding a Jokic, FVV, etc)

Your favorite Trae young and Luka Doncic are doing an AWFUL job @ leading their teams to wins this year.

And so are a lot of other players listed on that list.

So what's your point?

That none of our guys are on this list lol.
RJ Barret is #16 on the list you linked. Did you even read the link or are you just here to spread your usual Knicks hate for the holiday season?
Yup and now would clearly be left off of any updated lists.

Major regression.

@ 21 years old he's actually one of the younger players on that list.

And a lot of other players on that list would be completely removed due to A.) Injury. B.) Regression and C.) Their teams ABSOLUTELY stinking.

And major regression?
Only 25 games in?

Funny.

Because during his last 3 games (before getting hit with covid) he combined for 70 points (23.3 points per game) along with 12/20 from 3 (.600%).

But yet you're talking about "major regression"?

Unbelievable. Get real dude. He's freaking 21 years old.

Why are you repeatedly fixated on his last 3 games when you can use a much larger body of work by comparing all of last season vs a quarter of this season?

Is it because that will tell you he has been awful this year?

Dude. You're so CLUELESS about R.J. Barrett to the point that you didn't even realize he was on the list that you linked and posted.

I'm fixated on his last 3 games because they were awesome performances while he combined for 70 points and 12/20 from 3.

He's also only 21 years old and one of the YOUNGEST PLAYERS ON THAT LIST YOU POSTED 😅

RJ has statistically been worse. His age is irrelevant.

You're basically saying because he's 21 he can regress. Some 21 year Olds just keep getting better.

Your boy isn't.

Just man up about it.

You telling people to "man-up" might just be one of the funniest things I've read on this board. Is RJ on your linked list or not? We all know you're a hater who mostly posts when things are not good and disappeared when things went well last season. Not to worry though, if RJ performs well the remaining 3/4 of this season, I expect you'll slink away instead of ya know...."manning up".

Progression is generally not linear. I also think we are harder on our own players than we are on guys we dont watch every night.

R.J. Barrett is getting a lot of hate from this guy.

With no mention how he shut down Jayson Tatum and no mention how he's becoming an awesome defensive player on the wings.

Yes he's had some bad games (early on) as a 3rd year player but he's also had games of...

15 points.
15 points.
17 points.
19 points.
19 points.
19 points.
20 points.
20 points.
23 points.
27 points.
32 points.
And a career high 35 points.

And this guy is ignoring all of these games?

He's also had 15 games of 5-15 rebounds and this guy is ignoring all of the above?

He's developing into a two way player @ only 21 years of age and the hate he's receiving is disgusting.

It's funny how his favorite Zion Williamson and Cam Reddish aren't listed on the list he linked and posted amongst the best young NBA players 23 years of age or younger; but R.J. Barrett...Is! 😅

Let's just post his point totals for 12 games, how exciting.

Why not just look at his season average? Or is that too logical for you?

15.1 PPG - down from last year
0.4 SPG - down from last year
2.1 APG - down from last year
5.6 RPB - down from last year
73.3 FT% - down from last year
35.3 3PT% - down from last year
40.2 FG% - down from last year

Amazing improvements across the board. Amazing.

for sure... which is what makes some of these posts so ridic. "Mitch is trash" and 3 weeks later its "Mitch is fantastic" from the same guy.

People are worried about how good we are. It surely wasnt a perfect offseason but the trend of adding quality youth that actually have a place in the rotation continues while at the same time we continue to add draft assets, AND use the G league. Its great and I am thrilled about it.

Its such a long season. I just want to see them continue to get better and I see that for sure.

you guys are both being idiots. Progression is not linear (thank you foosballnick) so harping on last year's stats doesnt mean much especially when considering how RJ started vs. how RJ finished. Now that also doesnt discount the fact that RJ has NOT had a good start to the season and there is nothing wrong saying he needs to play better and if he's improved from last year it hasnt really shown on the court yet.

Or you can paint RJ GREAT and RJ SHIT on bricks and throw them at each other (maybe wear helmets?)

Whatever

The only guy on this squad younger than RJ is McBride. There's a process. Coach called him out, the dude started killing it and poof he gone

What, you're not happy to see and know that he was playing great basketball during his previous 3 games before covid protocol? You seem very BUTTHURT over R.J's progress.

And since when was the NBA season only 25 games? I thought the NBA season was 82 games?

AND OH YEAH. YOU KNOW THAT LIST YOU LINKED AND POSTED OF THE BEST NBA PLAYERS @ 23 YEARS OF AGE AND YOUNGER? @ ONLY 21 YEARS OLD; R.J. BARRETT WAS... ON THAT LIST 😅🤣😅🤣 @ you.

I'd trade them Mitch, filler and some picks - thinking about it from the NO, I would take that deal. From the Knick side, er, not so much!

Op is absolutely right. Best thing we have going for us right now is Perry has nailed 90% of his draft picks last 4 drafts

His only whiff has been Knox over Bridges and that was 2017

Let's just post his point totals for 12 games, how exciting.

Why not just look at his season average? Or is that too logical for you?

15.1 PPG - down from last year
0.4 SPG - down from last year
2.1 APG - down from last year
5.6 RPB - down from last year
73.3 FT% - down from last year
35.3 3PT% - down from last year
40.2 FG% - down from last year

Amazing improvements across the board. Amazing.

Why not wait for the entire 82 game season to end before "judging his stats".

Or is that too logical for you?

If it means you'll shut up about that dumb that 3 game stint, I'm on board lmao.

Does that also mean since you're waiting out the season, you'll also stop Hinkie-pissing your tanking for ping pong ball posts all over the board?

He's ridiculous.

He'd rather all of R.J. Barrett, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley, Deuce McBride, Quentin Grimes and Mitchell Robinson ABSOLUTELY STINK, PLAY HORRIBLE AND... tank.

Just so he could root for his favorite PING PONGS.

Because if the Knicks somehow finished with the #1 overall pick? The team must've SUCKED ASS in order to TANK SO BAD.

That's laughable (IMO).

R.J. Barrett, Deuce McBride, Quentin Grimes, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin and Mitchell Robinson.
