Not true @ all. He's an elite Defensive anchor and holds the NBAs All-Time #1 FG% during a single season.
And that doesn't happen without a high basketball I.Q (at only 23 years of age).
The only reason he's been coming off the bench is because he missed the end of last season, the playoffs and was out with an INJURY and missed the entire offseason; therefore his conditioning and stamina has not been the same as once was.

He's coming off the bench after starting most of the season because he sucked, with very few exceptions, and he's nowhere near what he was when setting the dunking record 2 seasons ago. He's lost the lateral movement, speed, and stamina that allowed him the ability to change shots on the perimeter and guard the PnR like a mutant zombie before he got hurt.
That said, despite the local Debbie Downer's opinion, he doesn't need "enough IQ" to start. He needs to get and stay healthy. You don't get in shape playing ball, you get in shape so you can play ball.
