Not enough IQ to start.

Another factor with him coming off the bench is teams have to make so many adjustments. They can’t just drive to the basket or rely on guys on the perimeter to create their own shots

Not true @ all. He's an elite Defensive anchor and holds the NBAs All-Time #1 FG% during a single season.

And that doesn't happen without a high basketball I.Q (at only 23 years of age).

The only reason he's been coming off the bench is because he missed the end of last season, the playoffs and was out with an INJURY and missed the entire offseason; therefore his conditioning and stamina has not been the same as once was.

Wow. Just wow.

He's coming off the bench after starting most of the season because he sucked, with very few exceptions, and he's nowhere near what he was when setting the dunking record 2 seasons ago. He's lost the lateral movement, speed, and stamina that allowed him the ability to change shots on the perimeter and guard the PnR like a mutant zombie before he got hurt.

That said, despite the local Debbie Downer's opinion, he doesn't need "enough IQ" to start. He needs to get and stay healthy. You don't get in shape playing ball, you get in shape so you can play ball.

Over the last 3 games he's combined for 37 points, 31 rebounds, 4 steals and 7 blocks.

Looks like he's getting his lateral movements, speed and STAMINA back!

And he's starting once again tonight too and with another big performance? There is no way in hell he's not our starting Center moving forward.

If Mitch were wise he’d play against 6’8” centers every night.

And Mitch looked better coming off the bench because he’s playing against the other teams 2nd unit

Our defense was completely different and far more effective when he was on the floor. A lot of what Mitch does, preempting dribble penetration, changing shots etc., doesn’t show up in a box score

It also didn’t help that the refs cut him zero slack last night constantly putting him in foul trouble while Randle and Kemba were hacked anytime they drive to the basket with no calls

It's games like last night why I would only bring back Rob if it's dirt cheap. You can't trust him to stay healthy or play well consistently.

Again with the 3 game totals...! They're solid but not remarkable numbers for 3 games.
Try using averages. They're a little more honest:
12 pts, 10 RB, 1 steal, 2 blocks
See what i did there?

I thought his 8 rebounds, 5 blocks and help side Defense with a +21 were all pretty awesome today.

Kid is still only 23 years of age and imo an All-Star Center in the makings.
