I can see the Clippers or bucks being a fit. Prefer to send him to the west obviously.

I agree he gets to pick and choose. Im going to guess there was an upfront thing where he'd be given time (20 games) to make his mark and by what ever metrics used he did not pass the test. He knows whats up from Charlotte, Boston, and OKC, to his role here.
Solid dude an an ego that earned the right to be treated with respect.
NYK, I doubt we go a full season then like unleash him thinking he can make a huge impact.
If A team wants to make a go at him and he is down with that I have no problem buying him out and let him move on. He has earned that respect.
We gave him money and a tryout. If he wants to hand on our roster and he good with that its all good. He is home, 2nd year is not guaranteed and can retire a knick. Maybe Charlotte brings him back for a nice ending as they likely will retire his jersey. he is their all time leading scorer I believe.
His salary is handy for a trade and perhaps he moves on that way. You give him every consideration. For that matter maybe GSW takes him in for insurance and he is cool with that.

Pretty sure Kemba ga 17,894,491 guaranteed. Why do you think second year is not guaranteed?

Good catch. Appreciate the correction. Then buy out is not to be. Be curious what Kemba could bring in return. Off the bench spark on contender makes sense.
Wonder if Nets one of the teams. Kemba won't have to relocate?

I can see Kemba still being a productive player in the league. I look around and see 34 year old Mike Conley in Utah and can't help but think that Kemba could still play at that level if given that type of role.

Through the draft, the Knicks already have some interesting young talent that can soak up minutes at the PG position in Quickley, Grimes, and McBride - that's in addition to Burks and Rose.

As far as best landing spots for him, my picks:
* Denver - with Murray out and others out, they could use some firepower.
* OKC - Giddey could use a legit mentor.
* Grizzlies - could use PG depth - with Ja's high flying style, he's an ankle sprain waiting to happen. Better than Tyus Jones.
* Milwaukee - their depth is very questionable and any NBA level talent would help.
* Nets - could use PG depth with Kyrie in limbo
* Lakers - he fits in with the "let's get all of the top 15 fantasy players from 5 years ago" methodology... but also doesn't fit at all. :)

If Carlyle were still in Dallas, he could be the scrappy little guy (JJ Barea role). And I think someone mentioned Bullock hasn't been as good a fit as anticipated in Dallas. We know he worked really well with Randle and RJ. (btw, I just checked, Frank Ntilikina still can't shoot - no reunion there)

Kemba's contract is fairly reasonable given his upside in a part time starter injury replacement role, I think he could do a killer job.

Why? Keep him in the east where his putrid +/- can benefit us

That's not how it usually works. Expect to up his MSG scoring average to go up after he's traded all good as long as the Knicks still win.

I’d only deal him if he wants to be dealt. If he wants to be dealt

Let's be realistic. For him, we can possibly get a player or players who are also out of rotation and their total salary is around 9 million.

So a blogger knows 3 teams reached out but can’t do a thing until December 15th?
I can see us wanting Kemba to fill in for DRose.

Well yeah if it’s another team trying to dump a bad contract on us no thanks. I’d much rather keep Kemba on a cheap deal. 2005 Isiah no longer is managing this franchise at least I hope

We have a player out of rotation 20 games into a two year deal. Thats a bad contract.
Trades are essentially $ for $ (15% either way) per season so if its a one for one its 9mil per.
Or two 4.5’s. Or 3 at 3mm per.

I think the best we can hope for is a DRose type of trade, except we're assuming the role of the Pistons. So it is probably something like Kemba + pick for draft bust looking for a second chance.

That said, I saw a deal of Jeremy Lamb + 2nd for Kemba, and sign me up for that
