fishmike- actually, Phily has a huge, monster salary in place- earlier in the summer before moves (last time I have numbers for) they had about $264 million committed through 6 years- just behind us.
Their number this year is $72 mil- behind us, portland and dallas.
what they can't afford to do, just like we can't, is afford to spend that kind of dough and loose- though you are correct to assert their pockets are not quite as deep as ours that they can spend their way out of it- they're probably a lot closer to being able to blow it all up and rebuild.
What about your favorite- Antoine Walker? He hasn't signed an extension yet has he? I honestly don't see how he could lock himself in to that Atlanta team- they probably couldn't beat a lot of college teams. TT for Antoine? Atlanta gets a somewhat good player for two years instead of one.
