There appears to be trouble brewing in the Big Easy.

Zion Williamson is questioning his relationship with the New Orleans Pelicans because the organization hasn't made him and his family happy, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania, Joe Vardon, and William Guillory.

Some family members reportedly want the 2019 No. 1 pick to be on another team, adding that there's been internal dysfunction within the club for months.

The Williamsons reportedly found former Pelicans head coach Stan Van Gundy too rigid and demanding. Their "thinly veiled unhappiness" toward the franchise began before the 2020-21 campaign, according to The Athletic.

The trading of veteran guard JJ Redick is said to have irritated Williamson, according to Charania, Vardon, and Guillory. The sharpshooter developed a bond with the rising star over parts of two seasons in New Orleans, and Redick called out Pelicans executive David Griffin on his podcast after being dealt to the Dallas Mavericks at the trade deadline.

Redick's thoughts reportedly influenced some of Williamson's feelings about the Pelicans' direction.

New Orleans has missed the playoffs in each of Williamson's first two seasons in the Association. The 20-year-old earned his first career All-Star selection in 2020-21, averaging a career-high 27 points, 7.2 boards, and 3.7 assists over 61 appearances.

Will Nola and Dallas look for a trade partner in the next couple of days? Hehe. The difference between Porzingis and Luka, the knicks thought Porzingis is not a true superstar because of injury concerns, Luka is already solidifying himself as a superstar. Zion's weight concerns have been put aside since he just finished a relatively healthy season.

I would like either Luka or Zion in a knicks uniform but the package will be a melo type package that will include everyone of value.

Neither of these guys have won a Playoff series, so how much power do they really have within the organization

KP never even made the playoffs here and got himself traded. I don't think making the playoff equates to "power."

I just have a dislike for players who put themselves ahead of the team.

I felt a little different with KP because we were losing so much and going into Tank mode 3 weeks into a season

I'm a DIE hard Packers FAN since 1993, and the sht that A-Aron Rodgers is doing is definitely making me not like him anymore.

Yeah, from a fan perspective I hear ya. This type of stuff is probably easier to digest if the player delivered ring for the team. I'm not a Packers fan so I can't relate, but I would think after all Rodgers has provided to the team it would be hard to get mad at him for any reason. Think about it, the Packers have had their quarterback situation solidified for almost 30 straight years between Favre and Rodgers. As a Jets fan, we may not have had our quarterback situation solidified for 30 straight games!

What part a contract indicates the player needs to be included in all aspects of business.

I'm not saying they shouldn't giving what he(or any other super star) has done for the team but it's a courtesy no a requirement.

Definitely not required, but probably advisable to help maintain a positive relationship with your most important player. I haven't really followed the Rodgers situation so there are probably a lot of details I'm not aware of. Owners can run their team as they chose, but often the most successful organizations find that middle ground between being hardcore and coddling to their star players.
