Sounds more like “Marcellus Wallace” tone wise.

Aside from a couple of videos of Luca training with the coaching staff and a pick up game, are there any other early evaluations the knicks have made public about Luca?

Looking at his highlight videos, there might be a chance Luca may turn out to be a player in the NBA. If the coaching staff is confident Luca can lead this team in a couple of years then the idea of trying to sign CP3, Lowrey , Drgic or Conley might not be that bad as i think it will be. Maybe when the play of these vets decline it will be time for Luca to take the reigns and get the starting job.

I think the current front offuce is smart enougb plan atleast two steps ahead.

That's exactly what I was thinking. This is a brilliant lost risk high reward minimal cap impact move by the FO. Impressed with their transactions and player movements since Leon Rose came on board.

Now the question is which nba vet (CP3? Lowry?) is the best PG mentor / player coach to help Luca become an NBA starter? We have cap money and options to pay an older vet top dollar on 2 yrs with a 3rd yr option contract.

But I like Brunson as a backup personally...with a vet in front of him for 2 yrs....Im high on him and see a little cp3 potential in him. I like that backup to cp3 role for us next season. Luca may end up on the Westchester knicks...unfortunately!

Some video of Luca in a scrimmage. He is in the navy blue jersey and light blue shirt. He looks good every time I see him.

How did Luca do against Nigeria? Will the FO and coaching staff be able to properly guage Luca as a point guard? Did he have a better game this time? What do you think of his game as a facilitator, defender and 3pt shooter(spacer)?

Posted highlight vid in the Olympic thread. Shot looked nice. Didn't seem all that fast against Nigerian defenders. He gives me Austin Rivers vibes, but with better vision and a slower first step.

Perhaps not a shot creater in the NBA but a catch and shoot guy who can move the ball if the shot is not there.

So we have the possibility of the missing side of Frankie's offensive personality? Can we merge them into one player?

Anyone getting any impressions of Luca's defense? All I've seen are offensive highlights.

Sample size is small but from what I am seeing so far if we can sign a good starting PG then we need to do it. I am not seeing anything amazing yet to have us pass up on a good PG.

I’m hoping for more success than a guy that bounces around the league.

But maybe more, I’m looking forward to hearing Clyde say stuff like “Vildoza with the bulldoza finesse”.

He is an interesting looking player. He's not bashful. He has some handles and he has range, but I think maybe a little too focused on the 3 from these few exhibition games. I'd like to see a bit more drive and dish to him. That said I think he has the skills to play in the NBA and the moxie. He could be some fun to watch.

He seems to be a student of the game. If he's a Sponge, and picks up all the learning lessons from his 1st season, he will be a great addition. He's already going to impact the team with his shooting. But if we resign Rose and draft / trade for a PG. He will be like Obi....buried behind other PGs....only plays when someone is injured or during blowouts. But maybe that good for him to ease his way into building chemistry and confidence.
