This is my thesis with Holmes

You get rim protection BUT you also get an offensive player capable of 15-17 points legit AND a good passer.I think mitch as back up is about right. That would give us a more athletic more diverse 5 position. I also want to use one of our picks on Charles bassey.

Kendrick nunn( at the right price) along with Holmes gives the team an athletic boost that we don’t have. The star is Randle
But taking pressure off him is ncluding reduced minutes is key

Is he good at boxing out?

You know I gonna spin wit it

I agree with Bassey but not Holmes. Give Mitch a contract this summer because he's coming off injury and may accept something below his potential value. Then bring back Gibson, and you have Pelle and Bassey as additional depth. Investing in a non-star big man like Holmes who doesn't really move the needle isn't smart. He's not getting us to the second round. Mitch, Gibson, Bassey, and Pelle is more than enough, and there's very little investment beyond Mitch for a position that will be strong going forward.

Nunn, per sources, is among the guards who have been on the Knicks’ radar as they consider their offseason plans. Nunn shot 38.1 percent from beyond the arc on nearly six attempts per game this season and shot it remarkably well in the second half of the season. One member of an opposing organization analyzing the market drew a comparison between the 25-year-old Nunn and Terry Rozier, who averaged nine points per game in his last season with the Celtics before signing a three-year, $56 million deal with Charlotte. Rozier’s role increased. His production also increased. The opposing team thought Nunn, who averaged 14.6 points per game last year, could follow a similar path if his opportunities increased.

What could the market be for Nunn? The Athletic’s John Hollinger recently wrote that Nunn should command a contract in the 15 million per year range.

I'm wary of him for a few reasons, especially the fact the Heat benched him a couple of times, and didn't seem to want to play him in either playoffs (and he had poor shooting stats in them)

2nd year in the league. He still has potential he can reach. Rozier is actually a pretty solid comparison.

Nunn, Fournier & Olynyk could be some real solid additions depending on price.

Richaun has always intrigued me. But can he anchor and QB a defense? that seems to be a must for Thibs more than stats and more than offense, and I'm ok with that. If Mitch were healthy the playoffs may have been way different. He's another kid too.

as others have mentioned Nunn is risky. Guy was in the mix of rookie of the year then was on the side of a milk carton. Perhaps the league has developed a book on how to stop him. very streaky

I like this plan but as a player - ie Holmes - would you come to the Knicks knowing they had just drafted your replacement and will probably start Mitch?

It'll be interesting how this shakes out
