Tempting but not doable we went through this with Melo. Melo was a great player but after we gave everything away to get him we had nothing left and the players we gave away had great careers with other teams and some are still playing.

If Dame wanted to come here because of Johnnie Bryant, wouldn’t the Blazers just hire Johnnie Bryant as their new head coach and keep Dame sweet? Or that Twolves assistant who got snubbed for head coach that Dame complained about?

Lots of moves Blazers could make to shake things up- trade CJ for Ingram or some other front court player, hire a new head coach etc etc

This is accurate
There is no trade in any form.

The only possible way to have something worthy is a top 3 pick THIS year. Not happening

Trade the whole sorry team to Portland for Lillard alone, surround him with the Knicks City Dancers instead, call it the New York Dames, and watch out, Broadway!!!

No doubt this is coming from dame and his agent they are getting the blazers ready for his anticipated request to be moved. I highly doubt the Knicks called them the day after they were eliminated. Everyone knows the Knicks are the most covered team in the world so it makes sense to get the ball rolling with us as the aggressors .

Dame will be moved per his request to who we’ll see.

I wouldn’t give up the farm for him, the blazers put together a good team and he’s failed to move the needle. He lost to a nuggets team that’s missing there star pg .

His Individual performances are breathtaking, his lack of defense has always been a problem, I’m sure thibs could fix this or at least get him trying .

If anything you give up a bunch of picks Mitch and knox nothing else . Definitely no quickly no Barret.

Let’s not make the typical Knicks move .

Honestly, look at the West. The Warriors should be better next season. The Pelicans are a bit of a mess but still have some upside. Even OKC can jump them next season with their cap room and draft picks.

It’s going to be hard for them to keep competing even making the playoffs. If they do a full rebuild, they can get one pick for Covington, a couple or maybe a young player for CJ snd if they can get IQ, Obi, Knox and 4 first and 2 seconds from the Knicks, you can sell all that to your fan base.

The Knicks would be insane to give all that up for 31 year old Dame, plus have to pay him $43M - $54M over the next four years. You guys know this is Dame Lillard and not Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant or Lebron James, right?

Here’s how it goes: Stotts got fired and now Dame gets to pick the coach. If he don’t, then he has to state his intentions. Stay or go.
I do fear Johnny Bryant gets a interview. Management gets to pitch Dame to why he should stay.

One thing though, This dude has a cred and a mantra about loyalty and and love for the Rip City. Even this season he has been consistent with his message. A dude can change his mind and while I see his latest quote born from frustration I don’t see him changing his mind.

1. Three years then a player option. Avg 44mil a year. 176mm left if he picks up the 4th year. Its 48mm.

2. He does not own a No Trade Clause on his contract. Portland can trade him anywhere and he has no leverage to determine where he
goes. Portland can send him to Minnesota. Hhe has no control and thus he can’t force his way to a team he perceives as able
to win. He cannot say he wants to go to NY. Portland controls the game.

3. If he gains the freedom the price will be sky high. Nola can offer Ball and Ingram plus picks. Minny if its pick is top 3 can
fall back on that and move Edwards as core piece. This assumes Portland wants youth.

There is a **** ton of things we don’t know that factors in.

Here we go again! Please give it a break. So we lost! Lets build on it lets get other players but don't blow up the team. Let us learn from this.

For a player who never really took his team to the next level. I watched Dame go totally Randle down the stretch of the game last night, back to back unforced TO's (both lead to scores on the other end) one air ball, and another really bad shot selection, all in crunch time, just trying to do too much.

I'm not saying I wouldn't want Dame, I'm just saying I don't want to deplete our youth and future for a 2 yr run.

I trust Broc, Leon and WW won't even consider a trade like that, they just seem way to conservative.

He is to old. If he was 27 I would be more inclined. His decline will start next season.

He’s asking for Kidd to be the next head coach in Portland. Hopefully that means we’re not even tempted to gut the team for him.

Agree. Lillard is on the wrong side of 30, and will cost serious assets.

Blazers have him under contract through 2024 and he’s Mr Portland right now. They will hire Kidd. He’s going nowhere

Kidd just pulled out of the race to coach the blazers. I think David vanterpool gets it as Dame has been pushing for him to get the job or a darkhorse candidate is our very own johnnie Bryant. He has a good resume with coaching stints with snyder and thibs plus has a solid relationship with dame
