I'd use every pick on a PG or SG, unless there is some big talent that stands out.

For most of the season, we seemed to miss one PG and one wing the most, but I’m not sure we have the same needs this summer.

Rose is here, we brought Vildoza (whatever he eventually turns out to be), and IQ can play PG for a few minutes, too. I want to say that we really have the quantity. What we need is a starting PG, and we will hardly find that around the 20th pick. Vildoza is that “rookie PG” we were looking for.

There are a few players I like in that position, but aren’t we going to make too much of a fuss? Isn’t it perhaps better to take the wing and center though?

Lots to pick from going 15-35

Only Bassey and sharpe make sense. The rest are way too raw.

Raw is what I like about Greg Brown. It’s the reason why he should be available to the Knicks. If you accept that you are likely filling slots 13-15 on the roster with draft pick rookies, it’s not the worst thing to pick pure physical upside and rely on the coaches to teach skills. Greg Brown could be special.

I get it. The only reason I’m hesistant on raw prospects is because of how poorly most turn out. I don’t want us to end up like Boston who wasted their picks treasure stash of picks on useless guys who won’t be in the league. They’re supposed to have a stacked bench but that isn’t the case. Similarly, guys like Knox and Frank were also high upside guys who flopped. It’s my preference that whoever we draft has at least 1 or two translatable skills.

He’s long, very athletic and has a decent 3pt shot. He would certainly have some work to put in, but he would have time, coaching and a team that likes putting in work. He is the kind of player that could be amazing. I’m thinking unpolished Brandon Ingram.

I like Jared Butler in the 19-21 range but it’s clear we don’t need to draft a PG because we already have a rookie PG joining the roster and quickley as a second year combo guard. We need a vet in free agency, whether a starter or a reserve to keep Rose’s minutes down, and that position is set. We really can’t keep more than 4 PGs on the active roster. As of now I don’t even expect Vildoza to be a rotation player. We need to sign a PG that can really defend and focus the draft on adding wing and big prospects. Duarte and Aaron Henry are 2 2-way wings I love. Henry is starting to gain momentum. He’s a great athlete who plays great defense and his shooting is coming around. Ultimately shooting is his swing skill. If he becomes a league average shooter than he’s a high quality role player at SG/SF.

Wing and center priority to draft

If your looking at another cg he better turn out to be all star/borderline all star type player. If not we already have a cg who imo are similiar to the prospective players. (Iq luca)

Nobody ever talks about cam Thomas. He doesn’t try to play defense but can. He can flat out score anywhere on the court. When we need a bucket and the clock is running down give it to him? Can he be a beal?

Are we over looking cam Thomas????

Some have made this argument about “project” players but I’m gonna make it about centers. I am not a huge fan of drafting centers, particularly young centers. Feel like it takes a couple years for them to develop their “man-strength” and can be awhile for them to be able to hold their position against older and stronger players.

Now, Bassey is a junior and I can see why Briggs is projecting him. I like that kind of pick here, not because I expect it to be relevant in the immediate sense, but with some training and some strength, he could be a player.

I just think that any player chosen at 19, 21 or 33 is likely to be out of the 10 man rotation for a bit. With that as the case, I shift focus to players that more extreme physical prowess but need to develop skills.

Now that Makur Maker is entering the draft, I am curious where he projects. I imagine he pushes Bassey down the draft projections a bit.

I see bassey as a player we will develop in the g league first. We will most likely bring back our 3 centers for next year. Noel that depends on money. If they like bassey a lot in the combine I could see them putting Knox or pelle and a second or so to move up 1 or two spots to the late first round.

Yea i was looking at makur maker last year interesting prospect.

I see Massey as insurances because we don’t know what will happen with the Mitch and Noel contracts coming up.

I know most don’t think long term but I see this year draft as strengthening our long term future. Having a group of young guys who will make us good for a decade.

Half way through the decade we will have the chance to trade off these guys for big stars if we end up constant eastern conference champion contenders. If we build a culture of winning top tier aging stars will want to join us for not much money.

So the hope with this draft is obtaining a standout player who can replace sone of our older vets (down the line in the future) like bullock burks taj and to also shoot for a high upside sleeper.

So yea priority wing and centers 😅😁 —- a cg if you believe he can be a borderline all star.... a pf if you feel he will be better than Toppin.

After our playoff run is over we will bet serious about the draft and decision making for our future.

I’m Interested in the combine this year for player measurements etc

I’ll look closely at this years draft players in June
