This summer it’s just Kawhi who I really don’t believe will go to Dallas. I guess you mean they’re targeting next summer (Beal, LaVine), but I’m just pretty sure neither of them will be free agent in the summer of 2022.I may be wrong, but I don’t think LaVine is going anywhere and will sign an extension with the Bulls. For Beal, I believe he will finally be traded somewhere. This also affects our dream scenario.
You want to know what is even more wild? Let's say Cuban figures out a deal to land the likes of Beal but that deal involves Dallas draft picks and whatnot.... Because the Knicks own Dallas 2023 pick with 1-10 protection til 2025, they cannot move picks that are further out and are hamstrung til they remove protection or do something else to satisfy the Brunson out of it
It’s clear to me what you mean and it’s true that we have that leverage because Dallas future picks are blocked for trade. But I have to admit I don’t see what kind of package Cuban can put together for Beal. If he says “only Luka is unavailable, all other players and picks are available, take whatever you want”, it would not be enough.
