Jeff, you had the chance to coach here again and get paid millions to get this team back to the playoffs. You didn’t because you dismissed us as going nowhere. Go enjoy coaching the Mavs or the Timberwolves in a couple years
Who said he had a chance to coach here? HE turn us down and they give it to Thibs? JVG has not coached in 23 years! PHil Jax won his last chip in 2010! Jeff a good dude and he did a god job here. Came and went. This romantic notion he’d come back is all on fans. He might have been offered the job in Houston for a second round but he was smart to turn that down.

He’s right about the Hawks- they are deep, loaded with three point shooters and are going to be really difficult to beat. Bogdanovic has been playing next level, and was a real tough, clutch player in euro games.
A back court of him and Trae Young (who can draw zillions of fouls with his BS flopping) can penetrate and a pass and shoot, and can be surrounded by 3 point shooters like Gallo, Collins, Hunter, Lou Williams, Huerter, With defensive, rebounding menace Clint Capella at C. They’re versatile too. I don’t understand why so many Knick fans think they’re going to be easy
The Young/Capella PnR is pretty automatic and unstoppable. We are going to have to score alot. Good thing their D is pretty bad

We have more toughness and discipline than the Hawks.
Thibs is going to be put to the test to see if his all season playoff mode strategy was the right one. It actually could be the right one, that’s the funny thing.
I’m just happy our season isn’t over and there is no talk of lottery picks!
Exactly. I think we will be more prepared for the hawks. We already been prepping for them all week.

Lottery picks and cap space is how we attempt to get to elite. We will be moving into weaponizing our cap and picks after the playoffs. Moving into the last stages of the 4 year rebuild.
So I’m very much interested in these two things.

I know the Hawks struggled to stay healthy while the Knicks have been pretty consistent excepting MRob.
The Knicks did benefit for the Hawks playing hurt and/or Trae getting injured during the game. A full strength Atlanta squad will not be as easy.
That said, I think the Knicks are a bad matchup for the Hawks. Feel like the Knicks can body them. Not saying we are guaranteed to win, just that we have a good matchup.
You know I gonna spin wit it

Where would Van Gundy be without the Knicks? Coaching high school making crap money?
He was vastly overrated as a coach, and even more so now as a TV commentator.
And he’ll be let go from that job in 1-2 years the way these networks are getting rid of overpaid legacy talent

Your correct, it was a typo. 13 or 14 seasons based on date of hire.

One game at a time.
Whatever. You are what your record says you are. The records for Atlanta and NY are the same, so it's reasonable to expect a close serious. To just write off the next because our players play high minutes is unreasonable. If it were that simple, how come his brother Stan didn't do the same thing in New Orleans? The winner of this series will be determined by the team who controls the pace. No wait, it's the team who hits the most threes. No wait it's the team who defends the three better. I notice that anyone who tries to sum up series in one series is usually a person who hasn't paid much attention to either team.

We beat them twice when coached by Lloyd Pierce. Its not the hate or just JVG. Odds makers too. Hate is saying stupid **** with no basis. To lean on "we beat them 3-0" is naïve. Its not what most of us want. we just recognize Hawks and give them respect.

I don't think so.. I think the Hawks have improved markedly over the course of the season.. I think we'll win but I don't think we will sweep and if they shoot I think they could steal a game or two
