Quickly is not a PG, so I would say no.

I like him and Rose off the bench.

Iq is a combo guard who can have point guard moments lol

What’s wrong with his role.

We need to draft a combo guard who can play like 33 year old Derrick rose in 2-3 years when his legs give up on him lol

Which guy?

Davion mitchel
James bouknight
Cam Thomas
Jared butler

He needs to be able to share the 🏀 with iq and not be to much of a defensive liability. (All of these guys are barely 6-3 on a good day)

I’m thinking about our long term success, being good for 10 years .

We also need a wing to replace bullock and burks when they want to much money.

Kispert or Duarte ?

These are two important needs to be filled in the next 2 years draft.

Lastly,

We need to use the 50m+ in cap space the next 2 years to pick up a point guard and another all star for Randle.

I think Toppin will be adequate as our rotational 4. So the pf position is fine.

We could possible have a team with

- 2 all stars and a Robyn (RJ barret)maybe 3😅
- solid pg
- above average rotational players

Blueprint guys

Re-phrase the question....Instead of saying can Quick start @ PG, rephrase it to, Can Quick start next year? The answer is Yes! Some of us are too caught up in the word Point Guard when in reality, other than Chris Paul and maybe a few others, the point guard in the traditional sense is extinct.

From Dame, to Trey, to Kyrie and even Derrick Rose; all of these players are combo guards or lead guards whose best skill is scoring or attacking and perhaps their second best skill is passing. Quickley's best skill is shooting. He is also being asked to provide shooting and scoring, first, in his 15-19 minute role off the bench. We've seen glimpses of playmaking here and there and if Quickley's role was expanded and he was asked to play more of a lead guard role, given time, I think he can do it. He's adjusted the NBA pretty quick, he's shown to have a very good IQ and picks up things relatively quick. Of course, it wont be to the level of Chris Paul or even Lonzo Ball, but how many lead guards in the league see the floor like they do?

Most lead guards in today's game (on the offensive end) need to be able to drive and kick, shoot the 3-ball and run the pick-n-roll where they can score for themselves with the float-game or pull up Jay and feed the roller for a dunk, or lay up. Quickley has shown glimpses of all 3, more 3-ball and pick and roll but not too many drive and kicks. This team is built around Randle facilitating the offense. I think Quick would be fine in the first 5.

What’s wrong with his role.

Nothing. I like him as a 6th man coming off the bench providing instant offense

I love IQ a lot, but let’s not exaggerate.

Edwards, Ball, Haliburton, and even Anthony, Weisman, and Bey all have better numbers. Now, IQ may be "better" than some of them, but the numbers are taken into account when voting. The only thing is that Anthony, Weisman and Ball will have a lot fewer games.

I agree

But I think we all know if iq was getting consistently 30+ minutes a night he would be close to RJ numbers about 17- 20 ppg this year

Can Quickley start pg next year with rose as back up?
