Regardless if he starts or not, Quickley should definitely be on the floor for the last 2 mins of a close game. Throughot the season,, its clear that we performance better when Quick and Burks are on the floor in the clutch.

Funny, It was Payton who hit a clutch 3 the other night. Payton will take it to the rim too. Quick is not drawing fouls as he did previously and that matters. As a spot up shooter he can be on the floor but once he puts the ball and goes to the rim he takes a lot of floaters and they are not a high % shot. RJ is getting the opportunity and growth space to close out. We are developing yoot in closing. DRose should be out there.
Burks has done a good job but he is fading.
Bottom line is the team has a ceiling and we have hit it a few times.

agree and he JUST figured out how to do that... in college. Last time he was a PG was in high school. His break out was his sophomore season off the bench as 6th man 3rd guard.

IQ is fantastic and I expect him to a Knick for a very long time and I expect him to get better over the years as well. He's wildly inconsistent in his current simple role. Asking more of him now is NOT going to accelerate IQ or the team's development.

IQ is a good but streaky scorer. His defense will improve and he's got a pretty high ceiling there with his quickness and good length.

Have we seen IQ run any plays?

he has been on the floor in a lot of those last few possessions at the end of close games, but it seems like it's more for spacing than actually getting him the ball.

I’m not advocating for Payton. He is a 4.8mm back up who happens to be our best starter at the moment. DRose has the talent but not sustainable. Rivers, IQ, Frank, Dennis, Pinson, and Harper could not unseat him. IM just saying Thibs has wrung out about all he can from this group and not sure here were any great cheap alternatives available and with little practice time it was not in Thibs wheel house is my guess. We flirt with.500 and exceeded expectations up until now.
I’m not hating on IQ starting and letting him play thru the wall but thats not how this team operates this season or develops. That could change but OBI and IQ are treated like the other yoot.
To me if your here you matter and get a chance. If not, you gone. Iggy and Dennis are gone. Rivers gone.
I dont believe frank is here because there was no trade value. If so and we not resigning him then he would be cut. He either has value now to Thibs or potentially in the future. I’m as baffled as any. Not quite 1248 delusional stage but within reason.

Interesting take on Frank. This could be true. Maybe they want him on the team for playoffs. There could be slight interest in him in the organization. Depends on how market this summer if they retain him.

IQ........The inconsistency of a good rookie does not diminish his potential. ITs just a part of the process and respect it.
Thibs must have an upfront contract that the team has bought into regarding playing time and roles. He has gotten buy in and kept his locker room together.
While they are outwardly putting on a great face I can only imagine Knox and perhaps even our cool French Frank not happy with the current status of their playing time. Its not our business as fans to understand it. It gets dealt with over time.

For me, IQ has not yet filled the PG role as a Knicks player, he is a SG who has a lot of room to grow before he is a PG. Looks like teams have either scouted him enough and know his 1-2 moves or he has hit a wall.

I agree completely, he’s a undersized SG

Which was his college scouting report. I feel he passed more earlier in the season, he looks like he just has tunnel vision now.

Maybe it’s a rookie wall, but RJ has progressed as the season goes on and IQ has regressed.

It's definitely a rookie wall. I don't know if I consider him more of a PG or SG. Ideally you pair him with a guard who can play on or off the ball and defend. Burks tends to fit well with him. Lonzo Ball would be perfect too.
