I feel like most scout and fans believed(including me) he had highest bust potential

The fact that he is shooting 38% from 3 is quite ridiculous.

I would say it if RJ was the number one pick. More than a few fans had "buyer's remorse".

The word 'bust" was used literally after his second summer league game.

Doesnt have Kobe's athleticism, but I do believe RJ has that " Mamba mentality." Not afraid of the big moment. Failures only push him to work harder. Kobe airballed those 3s his first playoff series. Came back stronger.

Saw the same thing when RJ was bricking all those 3s earlier in the season. Didnt go into a funk. Started driving to the rim over and over, got better at bully ball. Then went back to shooting the 3 when he was more confident. Keeps the momentum going.

Now imagine if we had traded for CP3

And now really stretch your mind and think of what was the price?
Also imagine a scenario where CP3 is chronically hurt becuase that was a possibility.
Your imagination only thinks of hindsight and you think we have as good a team as Suns.
We don’t have that roster. So imagine Randle has the ball less, Thibs runs CP3 into the ground, and Dennis still sucks.
ITs ton the same. It might be better, it might be worse. But you don’t get to extract only the good and improve on it. Thats childish.

I always liked the benchmark/comparison of Paul Pierce for RJ.
I think he may well already be comparable to Paul Pierce at his peak.

Paul Pierce got stabbed 11 times, got a HOF career, Multigenerational wealth, a chip, a lovely wife and kids and is still an *******.
RJ seems like a nice straight on kid with a laser focus to succeed. I hope he can round out his life and fulfil his dreams. His video’s he talks about having “fun”. Man, after watching the Tiger Woods doc I hope some of these kids do enjoy the ride! Not “too much”! LOL........

RJ has for a 20 year old is durable and we keep saying over and over his progress is just steady and incrementally sneaky good. No flash, little emotion and he acts like he been hear before! Can’t get too exicited because he don’t!!! LOL

Also, CP3 said he didn't want to come here.

I think if RJ can develop a little bit ot Reggie Lewis it would complement his game well. RIght now he goes hard to rim. great and he should continue with that. But Reggie had that little stop and pop aspect

would be awesome if he can keep his shooting up

15 of his 20 points in the 4th quarter and OT. Mr. Clutch.

Amazing what can happen when you display a little patience. A few months ago there was a thread titled "RJ is useless." Hopefully when RJ hits another rough stretch of games people will remember last night.

Ofcourse he’s not Kobe. Who is? I’ll take the next Jayson Tatum however

Of course you missed the point. Which was about RJ's mindset, not skillset.

Becareful reading too much into Briggs "in the moment" threads. You are correct. But I think he got this one right. 🤔 If we had lost, not sure this thread would've existed.

RJ was completely underestimated last year. I would hope he has higher aspirations then proving the wrong but a little extra motivation cant hurt.
Can’t have been lost on RJ that Ja Was on the court. Thats OK, a little sneer now and then can’t be bad.
