That is the plan. We have a win now coach and a GM that wants to establish himself ASAP. Have one All-Star ready to build around him in his peak.

So your plan is to "start" with a trade offer of Knox, IQ, Obi and 2 First Rounders for a guy like Oladipo who is playing well below his career stats, coming off a major injury and a FA next year? I think you may need to take some time off from this board to watch other NBA games, players and read up on stats and contract situations.

I would give him the benefit of the doubt and say that deal was for Beal and honestly you have to make that trade. Something like that is going to happen. When it does I just hope its a good trade for us. I think Leon has unique view into the league and I am really hoping it helps us. He doesnt have a big body of work yet, but Leon's moves so far show a few things. He was willing to spend on coaching, not just on Thibs but his supporting coaches. He was really focused on value both with FA and the draft. He moved all around to gain any additional draft capital that might have been available and made small signing that allowed him max flexibility moving forward. He declined Elfrid and brought him back for half the money.

The "win-now" thing remains funny. What does that mean again?

The win now is in reference to the coach who isn’t as willing as some think to develop players. They are creating value to trade for proven veterans.

Read above - his offer would be Obi, IQ, Knox and a protected 1st Rounder for Oladipo. Lulz....

Beal is in a different class altogether and should not be lumped in with Oladipo - I can certainly understand the allure of bringing in a guy who can put it in the bucket like Beal. But Washington would want more than that and it would likely be 3 unprotected picks......at some point giving up the house becomes diminishing returns.....especially for a guy who has not been able to elevate the overall performance of his team with Washington currently still a bottom feeder. If I'm going to give up the boat, I pour it into trading up and getting one of the studs in this upcoming draft.....while Cunningham might be out of reach......Suggs, Mobley, Kuminga, Green may not.

Yep. Ola is three years removed from that one superstar season he had. He's not the same guy. Plus, he's a free-agent. If the Knicks really want, and I hope they don't, just sign and save the assets. Now guys like Beal and Lavine... they're going to take real assets and I would have to seriously consider it.

Silliness. This is just some cliche that fans like to use. The reality is ALL coaches are in this to win now. Some have better rosters and some are just better at it. What happens to the coaches who play real NBA games to "develop" their players - after short terms, they get fired.
