Question: why can't IQ start at the 2, and slide to PG when Payton sits? Doesn't he give us that shooting we need at the SG position?

Why is IQ only 5? He’s second in ppg or points per minutes among all rookies. His defense and play making have been excellent

Very small defensively, he’d get overwhelmed at SG

IQ and Payton can switch on defense. And it isnt like IQ tiny. He may be on she short side but his reach is long.

Congrats IQ. Your prize is no more playing time with Rose on board.

I don’t understand how IQ lost his minutes. Thibs can suck a nut IMO. Watching him play was probably the only bright spot in this marginal season.

At least tell the fans why you took his minutes.

Payton has to be absolutely dreadful, and Quick has to play out of his mind just to crack 25 mins. Payton was 3-12 today with one missed lay up after the next and still cracked 31 minutes...

Knicks have 2 main PGs on the team and you are proposing they play at the same time... I’m out

If you have Payton, IQ, and Rose, you have 3 guards (only Payton is a pure PG, Rose and Quick are more combo guards) to play 96 minutes. It can be done, while getting everyone ample time.

If you have Payton, IQ, and Rose, you have 3.

Are we seriously calling Rose a "PG"?

It's what he has been called his whole career, the position he played when he won an MVP, and literally every team now wants a PG who can score and distribute.

He's a high usage gunner. The closest I've seen him come to running an offense is a pick and roll. You can argue that the real "point" on those Bulls team was Joachim Noah.

Ok.....you can always have one of Payton or IQ on the floor when Rose is there if you feel that strongly about it. This ain't that difficult. Rose is a freaking back up!

I suppose you're going to perpetuate the myth of Frank as an SG or SF that can't shoot?
We have 4 on the team (or 5 PGs, if you count Rivers, let's not count him, and say 4) before and after the trade.
I don't understand why this team is allergic to actually having a SHOOTER play SG since like Allan Houston

No, I'm going with some common sense, straight forward take that says Frank and DJSr were out of the rotation. For me Rivers is a combo guy who had some ball handling responsibilities but really isn't a PG on the team.

Elf and IQ are the main PGs on the team before this trade. They haven't played substantial minutes at all together and playing them at the same time as a part of a rotation would be insane

Why is that insane?
