At this point, he is going to get more shots with the second unit and they need his scoring there. I’m not saying IQ can’t or shouldn’t start, just that it is like Thibs said, the fit is better with the second unit. What we really need is an upgrade to Elf. Frank really missed his opportunity by not being able to stay healthy. If you consider that all Elf really does is give the ball to Randle then stand around, it shouldn’t be too hard to replace that
As much as I hate Elf. He attacks more than Frank. Frank needs to be more aggressive even with the second first unit. I do think he’ll get another chance but he better not act like a coward when he is given this next chance.
Last couple of games, RJ has been initiating the offense taking the ball out of Payton's hands rending him useless being that he is a poor spot up shooter.
this has not been a good year for Eld, regardless of RJ. He kills pace. i like his defense and rebounding but it's not enough to start. his liability on offense goes well beyond his lack of shooting. he doesn't make things easier for anyone, and i would argue he doesn't get us organized either
For what it's worth Elf is actually having a career season.
Career ending season? For his time in NY?
I don't know how to post his season's stats compared to career without screwing up formatiing but to my eyes ELf is signficantly worse in almost every stat this year other than FT%. His PER and WS have cratered, as have his assists, his FG, FG3 and EFG% are all down which is difficult to fathom because they were already so putrid
