He is only like 21 still, a monster body, and quick as a cat. He can live with Aquire for a few years.

He is sort of like Stomile at this point, but still has much more mad upside. Denver needs to figure out which directions they want to go in. NeNe coming off the bench might be an ego problem, but thats all. He has a long career ahead of him.

Trade Naser and Kurt for Nene. He is much more athletic than the both of those guys.

Why wouldn't they do this trade? Keep in mind that Nene has already been in the league for almost four years and they might lose his bird rights if he decides to go through with free-agency. He only signed for four years and next season is his last playing with the contract that he has currently. Why not trade him for fair value instead of losing him for nothing? After all, Naser can solidify their Center position, and most of all, Kurt can back Fugazzy at the 4.

why wouldn't they simply re-sign Nené to an extension?

Nene is been in the league 2 full seasons. THis is his third.

So he is only halfway there.

I only look to move him if a guy like KT can take you all the way and is the missing piece. Nuggs are not quite there yet.

Camby is very fragile. Just cuz he start does not mean he finishes.

Nene is only 20-21 yrs old, and a long career ahead. No way I move this kid unless on the brink of somthing wonderful.

first of all NAZR and KT's salaries = about $11mm. Nene makes less than $3.

second Nene is the best player. Nazr isnt a starting center and KT and his 5 year deal arent a bargain backup for Denver.

Third the Nuggets will never lose Nene's bird rights. Nene is signed for this year. Afte this year he has a team option for $3.7mm which the Nuggets will SURELY pick up. After that he's a RESTRICTED free agent. That means the Nuggets have his bird right AND can match any offer made to Nene by another team. If he gets no offers and doesnt sign somewhere else the Nuggets can bring him back 3 years from now for a qualifying offer of $4.1mm

My guess is that if the salaries matched (which they don't) and even if Sweetney were thrown into the trade, Denver still wouldn't do the deal.

it all depends on DEN's situation in 2006...right now, it's not even worth talking about because alot can happen between now & then.

I would move Crawford in a heartbeat if he has a good season to get Nene. You need to start planning for your future, if they want kurt thomas do it. if they want Ariza do it.

If we give them Kurt/Ariza

Marbury
Craw
TT
Sweets
NENE

If we give them craw

Marbury
Houston
TT/Ariza
Sweets
Nene

Good. I would rather have Sweetney.

I like Nene but a guy who's averaging 11 and 8 in 32 minutes isn't a guy I'm going to trade Ariza OR Crawford for, no way. Tim Thomas is such a loser, I can't wait for Ariza to start, and you penciling in Houston is absurd, the guy hasn't played at 100% in almost a year. Let's watch this season and decide. When Crawford averages 20 a game, Ariza is starting over TT, and Houston hurts his knee again I think we'll all re-consider.

How would the Knicks plan for the future by young 2 or a young 3, both of whom have shown more promise than Nene at this point. He doesn't block any shots and can't shoot free throws. I like the guy, but no way I'd trade Crawford or Ariza.

And from Denver's perspective, why would you do this? They don't need Ariza since they have a guy named Carmelo playing the 3, and Crawford is due to make a TON of money. They can have Nene cheap for the next 3 seasons or do a deal for a guy like KT? Please, I can't see it happening.

Actually, Crawford's making a reasonable salary for his talent and age. Look at how much players got last summer. And they could desperately use an SG. Right now they have Voshon Lenard.
Regarding Nene, I bet he could easily average 14PPG right now on a team that focused on him more on offense.

Actually that's not true. His real name is Maybyner Hilario and Nene really was the name he picked out of the thousands of names that exist. It's a Brazilian thing. Like Pele, you know?

You beat me to it.

Nene means baby. Why would you want the world to call you that? That to me is homo all the way. What does he think he is Prince?

He's so quick though. I truly think he is the quickest I've ever seen at his position. If the Knicks coaches could get a hold of him there would really be a problem for the opposition.

Nene means "baby" in Brazilian (Portugese) slang.

Not "baby" as in infant.

But "baby" as in "Ooooooooh, baby, who's your daddy?"

That's true.....how crazy is that?
