Yeah but they got a 3 year window to try.... maybe more. If we’re lucky we’ll be playoff bound by then

Kyrie and harden will sabotage the chemistry

Idk..... part of me really wonders did Kyrie go on strike to force them to trade for Harden.

Anyhow I am tired of hoping other teams implode. We need to just get better, or if not better short term on track to be better long term.

That or go on strike because they are trading for Harden. Kyrie needs the ball in his hands. With Harden that's not gonna happen. I can understand why he would be upset

We got Stephon Marbury, there is no difference between the two. Lebron James can get anyone to the NBA finals. Kryie had a good two weeks, made a great shot in game 7, that's were it end. Outside of that what has he done? He can get you 50 in a loss. Destroy team chemistry. Boston did fine without him. No one is more toxic in the entire league. He's taking a social justice break? You're making $34MM, you're always injured, yea the world is a real unfair place for you. How about your teammates, coaches the organization that's paying you to take night off and then leave the team?

We could have had James Harden if we wanted him for Obi, RJ, Knox, the dallas picks and our first rounder this year, the question is do you really want him. He's insane, but again he was the one that pushed the rockets to trade for CP3, pushed them to trade for Westbrook. The team built the roster for him, he showed up late to practices, team flights.

Good for the Nets. Durant looks great, but if he gets injured there ****ed. The did the exact same thing that got them in this mess the first time around.

We may suck now, but given our two picks this year things will begin to change very quickly.

We sucked now. We sucked then, but yeah, we got those picks!!! LOL. Just messing. We are not in a position to make a more like the nets did.
But for real, Durant looks great. Any star player gets hurt they are phucked. Chris paul injuries in his career were untimely. GSW's first chip in the curry era was won on the trainers table.
Health wins chips. Haywood first season in boston 5 min into his first game!
Boston and Philly with all their talent and picks have yet to make a final. This shyt is hard.
Knicks need to take care of their own plan. I like the direction we are in. Its improving.

This is getting crazy. We can't get a half a star. What good is it getting all these 1st round pick and we still are in the hole.
Right now we have a team that can't shoot and now all of our 1st round pics for the last 3 years seem questionable. It still looks like
we are still a bunch of loosers, guys can't even shoot the damn ball. what's our excuse now??

I was thinking the exact same thing.. Good post! As a matter of fact the past two to four decades
It appears to me the DJ that other teams whom made these lopsidedness pro trades must be in for the $$$$ money
Earning or Salary cap $$ relief for some victory for the Pro organization owners.

For example, it's like conceding saying WE CANT WIN ANYHOW SO GIVE US ANYTHING $ in return
Then go ahead and bust every other teams ASS To win a pro championship with the players we gave up!
Amazing eh?

Basketball is really a hard game to follow. I hate to say it but super teams are destroying the game. Why even watch the damn games let’s just forget the season and go straight to the playoffs.

Dude you can say that about every star in the league, LBJ already showed he couldn't even make the playoffs with the promising young core the lakers had, they had to flip those dude for AD.

The thing with Fans That run around thinking no move is the best move because they are still TRAUMATIZE BY I T AND LAYDEN(15- 20 yrs ago), don't even realize that the knicks have had Cap space and and High 1st round picks for 8 out of the last 10 yrs.

It's like they're saying they ok with losing as long as we have cap space even if it take another 20 yrs. They want to keep losing hoping for a high pick and when the lottery results end up with us missing out on the best players, it's a ESPN conspiracy theory.

Don't trade for CP, don't trade for Wall, Don't trade For WB, than clap for the Front office who sign Peyton for 5 mill to facilitate a tank, then bitch 3 weeks later to have him waived

I know I'm a dinosaur but if we had the Nets roster I'd have a hard time being happy about it. Like when OBJ was on the NY Giants. The me first s#!t doesn't flush.

And before we give the Nets a "win" and the Knicks "lose" again, perhaps we see how it plays out? See where the young players, draft capital, cap flexibility, new organization take us.

I know, I know -- dump it all for Westbrook.....

If the knicks had KD, Kyrie, and Harden there wouldn't be a knicks fan on this planet that wouldn't be Giddy with Joy, and screaming Championship this yr. I don't care if you hated all 3 of them, you can't deny the talent, championship experience.

For any fan to say they would prefer to watch or have OBI, RJ, and IQ over the Nets Big 3, is a FLAT out HATER, a moron, jealous, and plain old ridiculous

Nets salary cap is at ~$164 M for this season and next. They have 6 players for 22/23 at $155M....all of these years will be well over the luxury cap apron and for this season at a time when there are no fans allowed in the seats. My understanding is that this will limit their use of any exceptions to make a move and they will be subject to a hard cap @ $138M.

Durant looks good - but is 32 years old coming off a major injury and on a minutes limit.

Irving is doing his annual "no-show" routine, has just been fined $50K for COVID protocol violations, is upset at the Nets coaching choice and has been stated to be willing to sit the remainder of this season while he continues to sulk

Harden was a mal-content who forced his way out of Houston

While this could certainly work out for the Nets Championship hopes - this has a significant potential of major crash and burn - with future picks and swaps hamstringing the draft pipeline for years to come.

Yeah, this move is more of a sign of the Nets desperation than it is a show of player management mastery. They blew up the next 10 years for a chance at a title now. The thing is, I still don't see them as the favorites this year. Maybe next year, but they are pretty much married to the idea of re-signing all three and they have few pieces to use to go out and bring in depth. I understand their reasoning, but it's a huuuggggeee gamble.

We've never accumulated the assets, got lucky, or built something attractive enough.

Feels like we are more on that path now than ever. It's just the way it is.

Harden did 8 years. They were close a few times. could not close a big game. They ere this generation Suns.
Harden gets a bad rap. Not a bad guy, not a great one either. Durable player, MVP, league leader in points.
Funny how some paint him, Durant, and Lebron like evil dudes. They are not perfect dudes. Not everyone can be Steph curry.
“Selfish” when they turn inward we call them. They are flawed, just like the rest of us.
Why are some of you offended by Kyrie? Not like he betrayed your or your team? Not like you paid him and he did not fix your leaky faucet......
We want a star but how many knick fans slam these guys and we all happy they don’t come after they turn the gig down.
1248 got a point.
But you can’t be bringing in older players until we have a solid base.

You cannot bring players who don't want to come.
This kind of players will be paid same everywhere they go, so they will go where they have chance to win now.
Means where another 2 players of this level are, where is some supporting cast, and solid coaching, where organization can be trusted to make right decisions.
Knicks organization lost the credibility and had 0 assets after the destruction path ended when it should with Phil and Melo closing the 20 years era of downfall.
This year is the very beginning of the attempt to restore Knicks back to what good bbal organization should be.
We do not deserve anything yet and stars will not come until we will.

Not me. To be honest KD didn’t win until he joined a team that was a NBA champion before he got there. Irving The same thing plus he is constantly hurt. Harden can score but can’t defend a 3rd grader 😂
