We could've had him if that's the package the Lakers are giving. No big loss.

I think the Lakers actually just got better. God forbid we get a Lakers vs Nets finals again.

Agree. LeBron has been running the point in LA. Shroeder might let him play off the ball more. We'll see if OKC moves Paul next. Thought they were going to trade Paul and keep Schroeder.

Edit: There is A Berman article on the front page about a possible big 3, with Harden going to the Nets. Id love it. Watching Kyrie and Harden fighting over touches. And Durant melting down over the dysfunction. I just hope they give up a lot of draft picks.

Oh believe me. I am dying for that to happen. How dare I fantasize the Knicks beat them in the playoffs! Would they really implode though? In fantasy land, oh hell yeah. In the real world, maybe they have problems but they work it through like adults.

But then again.... every time Kyrie blinks, I’m not thinking “Adult.”

Yup, Kyrie loves to dominate the ball. How will he react to a teammate who has the rock even more than he does? What they might do, if the Nets trade for Harden. Give it a season. If Kyrie doesnt play well with others (again) move Irving for some good role players, to compliment KD/Harden. If its not working, I doubt Durant would object.

What’s not to work? Kyrie has the ball the whole game, KD stands in the corner and Jim Harden is the coach for the day while Steve Nash claps.

If they put those three together they will get a trip to the finals. Doubt they would be worried about missing out on Knox, Nitlikina type picks for the next few years. Ie. Knicks world.

So many slept on KL and LBJ when they had an injury year. Only to be reminded of how good they were when they returned and won it all. Feel many are doing the same with Durant and Kyrie. Add Harden and its a probable chip.

Indicative of how little some Knick fans value our players. So many were willing to give up much more when all it took was a 33 year old and the 28th.

Just proves all you need to be is patient. Good deals are out there to be made. This was an absolute home run for the Lakers. Green is finished snd will be a valuable expiring contract.

I still liked the Green/Kuzma swap for us better than the 27th pick from the Clippers. Think it would have enable us to make a better trade while including another asset.

Can’t allow someone to take advantage of the desperation to be relevant.

Westbrook and Paul couldnt make it work with Harden. Who still chokes in the playoffs going back to OKC. Irving is with the Nets because of his history of being a lousy teammate. Durant left OKC because he was sick of a ball dominant PG. With Harden he would have two.

Throw in Irving's track record of serious injuries. Durant has yet to show he hasnt lost a step. I wouldnt pencil them in as a sure thing.

Schroeder on a one year left deal. Green gives some vet presence if they keep him and Presti gets another pick. Schroeder was excess talent they had no future for.
Small move for both teams but the aggregate is what matters. Lakers got the most out of Rondo who rarely goes a full season without some drama and Injury. He was masterful in the playoffs. Lakers knew when to just kiss and say goodbye. Most fans think “wow, we are screwed” because we think retroactively. Applaud the process that got rondo and perhaps the one that moved on from him. Jury out.
As for Knick fans we also think in terms of extrapolating the past into the future. Its why we have our heads down, devalue what we have and think we’ll always mess it up going forward. Its human nature.
Schroeder would be an upgrade on paper but I would not give a one year contract for a first round pick if i did not think it was a long term fit.
“Long term”. Somewhere there is a plan. WE don’t get to peek at it.

That's not true at all, he had plenty of options before he signed with the NETS.

If he wanted the knicks, Mills would have signed both KD and Irving faster than you can say CAA, and Knicks fans would have been super excited for the possibilities going forward.

Kyrie, CP, Westbrook are better than any PG we have had since walt frazier, and are still better than 95% of pg's in the NBA today.

Funny how Butler was considered a Bad teammate until this season

Rare, but I agree with this. Butler in the right environment was good, but he also enhanced that environment even better.

If we get Paul or Westbrook in response that sucks. If we get either because its a plan as you say “culture” i can go with that but not because Dolan panics. Nets might implode with Harden or hoist a chip. Thats a big trio of talent and that they had enough to get Harden speaks to the plan/opportunity they maneuvered over a 5-6 year period to get here. thats a two year window that Boston/Milwaukee/Philly will have to figure out in the east. Harden and Durant on the floor fully matured is crazy talent. Add Joe Harris perhaps and its even more so.
Yes, I want the knicks to make playoffs and eliminate them!!!
If not, Would I prefer nets win over Miami or Boston? I might. forget history, I respect Nash the player and still a fan of MDA.
somehow JR Smith gets on Nets they are “golden” LOL!!!!

Have you seen Kyrie’s W/L record without playing with Lebron or on a stacked Celtics team? He’s Stephon Marbury or Rod Strickland - shoot first pg who plays no defense and is a locker room virus

Don’t worry the Knicks are getting nobody via trade.

I’m just hoping Vassell is wearing a Knicks hat with his suit in two nights

I'll feel better when Westbrook also gets dealt somewhere. Still think/fear Rose is going to do something big (Overpay) in the trade market. Hopefully I am wrong and he just signs some good FA's. Especially guys that can shoot.

I am hoping Okongwu falls to us. Gave up on the idea of Toppin maybe falling. If not hoping for a trade down. We should know a clear direction by Friday.
