RJ’s FT% improved over the season. The 61% is not the full story. That stat is over the full season.

I’m not looking to nitpick. Certainly hope he continues to develop at the FT line. I’m not in the “must sell” category here. I do think that indicators like FT% are important though. He shot 54% in February, so you can’t say he made consistent growth. FT% speaks to skill level to a large degree.

If the Knicks were interested in Hield, I think Hield makes Barrett expendable. We can argue over Hield’s attitude vs Barrett’s upside. It’s highly possible that Barrett is a younger Wiggins. Or he could be a young Tracy McGrady. Hield is a volume 40% 3pt shooter that will open the floor a bit on a long but decent contract.

Personally, I’d be just as happy with Hield. I hope Barrett proves me wrong. Nothing would make me happier.
