I’m a Frank supporter and I don’t agree with that. Let him earn his contract next season

The knicks have spent money on all kinds of crap players and the refrain has always been, "Why do you care, its Dolan's money."

Here we have a fan favorite, an upstanding sports citizen in an NBA sewer of brain-dead idiots, and, at his worst, an off the bench defensive stopper.

Personally I think Frankie has been hurt by the Randle/Payton basketball bromance as has Barrett.

And his chemistry with Gibson, Barrett, and Dotson is the other intangible. These guys know how to dance on the floor. Or do you prefer the horror of Point-Forward Randle?

Keeping DSJ? That's something to think about.

If frank wants 50 million for being trash offensively then he can kid rocks you don't give 50 million defensive specialist. If he wants 10 million improve offensively average 13 points and 5 assist on 43 percent but if he going to average the same 6 points 3 assist game no 50 million and no 10 million a year. Neither is dsj worth 50 million dollars either he got improve to this season if not he can go with frank to free agency. There is reason why knicks are thinking of drafting a point guard because both dsj and frank were trash last season.

Omer Asik got a $70 million deal to do what I don’t exactly know but yes at this point no way is Frank worth that extension. I would resign him but not at that price

I would make that last year player option if he needs enticing.

We would need to do this deal before start of season as I suspect he will be much improved this year after he bulked up. If we are foolish we let him sign Qualifying Offer and then likely lose him to a team like the Bulls, Heat, or any other defensive minded team that would love to have him.

I think this will be Frank’s breakout year and we will regret doing a 1 or 2 year deal.

He’s RFA after next season. If Frank goes nuts and plays like Ron Artest in his prime we can match any offer

And Frank if he has a strong belief in himself might see that as a viable option. We don’t know if knicks intend to put anything on the table as far as an offer. They might try to low ball him.
It also might be in his best interests to go free agent and seek an opportunity that offers stability.
With a new regime that stability might be here. He has completed 3 seasons and now employed by his 3rd exam president and if he is here on opening night will be under his 4th coach/staff.
Dennis while he faced similar circumstances.
IM not saying neither he or frank has NOT underperformed.
we can talk all day long but at some point they get on the floor and have to show what they got.
