Mudiay? But yea... literally some of worst coaching I have seen. There are guys who are not effective, and there are guys who are terrible. We learned everything we needed to know when he started Trier/RJ cause phuck dem PGs

I learned what I needed to learn when we played the Nets at the beginning of the season. Kyrie had 5 fouls towards the end of the 4th quarter. I was screaming out loud and on this board to attack him. Once he got that 5th foul, not one player went after him. He ended up hitting the go ahead shot. That was entirely on Fizdale and I lost all interest in him being our coach once that game was over.

The one video that I'm haunted by is the one were Fiz was bragging about all the unconventional s*** he put into his 'programme' with he Griz (layups off the wrong foot, and all this other weird stuff), like he was proud of the nonsense- but he really sold it because he seemed so confident about it. That's him in a nutshell! I still think Perry and Mills went to him in the offseason and asked if he could make a roster of PF's work, and he probably said "yes" and BS'd a load of nonsense.

The mudiay thing was another warning sign- why the heck prioritize 'developing' a player you literally will not re-sign and is an expiring, over a player who you have on a rookie deal and is younger (Frank)?! Just because he went to your intro press conference?! Madness! Not that it made any difference in the end because his 'development' just consisted of him offering words of encouragement and minutes and nothing else.

Finally, another example of his BS- some podcast suggested the reason why Trier suddenly got the bum rush this season was because Fiz only gave him minutes and encouragement and a green light the previous season because he was friends with KD and it was part of the strategy to try and lure KD here (maybe that's why he even got a big contract). When that didn't happen, Fiz no longer had to play him and could glue him to the bench for being such an iso, selfish, no defense, unpopular practice player. What that demonstrates is how good a BS-er Fiz was with all that Iso Zo "we don't want to change who he is" stuff- he was very convincing at he time!

The telling sign that FIZ was trash was when we loss a franchise record 13 games in a row, and my final straw came when he started RJ at point the first game of the season after never trying it once in preseason.

To make matters worse was the fact that Perry refuse to send anyone to the G league..rather let them suffer through rookie walls and constant losing...think that does wonders for ones confidence? I'm still not going to be completely satisfied until he's gone.

Nice guy but terrible GM

I think you say this like 5x a day with a certainty that the Gleague would have yielded better results when at best its a concept not a fact. There are two sides to each perspective and its not a simple as “well, it couldn’t have hurt?” Truth is would it have helped?
Answer: You don’t know. None of us do.
Perry might be gone after this year. If Leon wants Gleague used more for Knick Roster players then its already been decided and it stands to reason an upfront issue.
Its even possible for Perry to have changed his mind about it. Do you fire him still?
I don’t know the criteria by which his contract was extended a year. It could be as simple as respect and knicks needed some continuity as the end of the season and draft was coming normally by June? Does Leon have a long term replacement In mind and this also is disclosed to Perry which gives him the courtesy of planning his next move? Or some fantasy that he is on a one year make good deal where he has to prove his meddle by some made up fan metric? In my not so humble opinion that seems the least plausible. I have no expectation for Perry going forward. They have 3 new front office guys and a new assistant with a rep for development. We have the roster we do with the issues as they are. As a fan you can think all execs just repeat the same shyt over and over. Or you can have some imagination.
The truth lies somewhere in between and hindsight tells the story.

i liked Fizdale, until this year. I don't see how he gets a third chance at being a HC when they are so many young and upcoming coaches.

The fact that Miller came in and with the same roster, +/-, and out performed is not good.

I'm sure he will get another chance to be an assistant somewhere, but not a head coach.

I still like Knox's chances of turning into a decent player. As he gains strength and experience, his jumper should start falling more consistently. I actually liked what he did this year. He focused on improving his defense, which clearly was the weakest part of his game last year. While he still is not a good defender, he brought more focus and determination to his defense this year and actually blocked a few shots, which is something I had been concerned about. This year will be telling. I hope the Knicks finally just give these kids consistent playing time and stop trying to bring in middling vets to try to win 2-3 more games. Frank, Knox, Mitch, and RJ need to get serious minutes next season so we can finally decide who needs to stay and who needs to go.
