Would love to see both of them here, but I can see Hardy taking over in San An once Pop retires.

Seems to be `Becky Hammond who’s next in line?

Didn’t Jonathon Macri say we’d end up with Rose and Thibs way back in Feb or something?

Or Tim Duncan.

With that said, based on resume, Thibs is the most accomplished coach we've had in a long time. I am concerned about the reports of his interactions, or lack thereof, with some of the young players in Minny, and his ability to adapt to the way the game is played today. Not saying that he cant do these things or that they can't be corrected, but they are a concern as of right now.

My biggest concern is now that Thibs is here, it may cause us to skip steps in the rebuild and chase players that help make an 8th seed playoff push next year. Hopefully, we will continue to focus on rebuilding the right way.

This was my only concern with hiring Thibbs. Will the Knicks continue to slowly rebuild, or will they try to star chase now? Hopefully, they will continue to slowly work on developing the young guys. Knox, Frank, Barrett, and Mitch need another season of grooming, and the team needs to focus on developing them and whoever we get with our first pick. They should wait until next summer before they go chasing major free agents.

I'm in line with all this. In a nutshell, was leaning to Kenny, super glad it ain't Kidd, hopeful with Thibs. Please don't do what we always have done -- the "quick fix." That is called insanity.

Successful rebuilds get to .500 within a year or two. The Knicks have already started their rebuild. They have a roster full of supposedly talented young players (many lottery picks).

RJ
Knox/Mitch
Frank/DSJ

Plus some young projects in Iggy, Wooten, Harper, and Pinson.
Plus some lottery guys on second contracts in Randle & Payton.

Whatever new coach they get, if he's competent, will get them to play hard and out-energy the other teams. It won't be about individual transcendent talent that gets us wins: it will be about hard work and a strong game plan.

No more waiting - many of our upcoming 1st rounders aren't dependent on our record.

I'll be satisfied if Thibs gets the nod. He'll be our most established coach since... hmm... Woodson? Every coach is an experiment, but he was one of the least risky choices out there.

This was a fake search. CAA still runs the team.

Asinine living in the past move.
Forget the draft and begin thinking about 2-3 vets who wi have no chance to last 82 games.
Leon Rose is a front man for the person who has killed the franchise and unfortunately the fans. R James Dolan. Napoleon lives

Glass half full view: Mitch and Frank take a step forward. Frank will be playing point to stop the opponent. Mitch will anchor. Offense runs through RJ, not Frank. there will be changes

Julius just had the ball taken out of his hands. I'm surprised if he's a KNick next year.

Could see Marcus Morris back?

Exactly! This is why I love thibs. Winners will love him.

RJ, Mitch, Knox, Randle and Frank are all workers, they enjoy the grind, Now it's up to thibs to mold them into players. I am so excited by this hire, thibs is gonna work for someone who has the knowledge of how he works in the front office, what kind of players he needs, what players to keep, an owner despite his shortcomings will pay the players.

I'll say this, hiring Thibs is definitely a culture shift and the Knicks will finally have an identity. Last coach we hired that gave us a true identity was MDA.

Was leaning Atkinson...Thibs should be fine.

I thought the Nets played well offensively with Atkinson, and their D was fine during the year before they made the trades. He got a lot out of an average roster.

I just don't want to see what some have mentioned...adding some vets to get an 8th seed and giving up younger players and high draft picks. I want an actual rebuild, and no quick fix shyte.

At least we will have a D minded coach...will be interesting to see what Thibs can get out our roster, and the type of players he will want to add to it.

No, its former CAA people. YOu build relationships, trust, and admiration with people. If Thibs got the job without the chops to do it then its an issue.
Van Gundy has not coached n 13 years and Mark Jax don’t even get sniffed. Maybe they are happy so its not even an issue.
Thibs in my opinion is not a guy you want to replace a coach on a rising team. Say what Kerr took over. Too rigid. Kerr enhanced what GSW was doing. This is a guy that is good to bring EARLY.
Rose is no idiot, I’m sure he talked with a lot of people to make sure Thibs would not inhibit FA’ signings.
We saw a poll that had a sample of 58 out of 450 players and by reputation would not want to play for him?
Thats about 22% if true, and I thought it was like 34%. So your talking about a small ass sample

Just wanted to go on record as saying that I would have much preferred to see Atkinson as the Knicks' coach. Hope the next 5 years prove me wrong.

A 5 year contract huh?

Does Leon Rose and WWW work for the Knicks or CAA? This contract makes me think it’s CAA they work for

MDA sucked here.... there wasn’t an identity because we never had the players he needed to run SSOL. The Knicks just wasted his time
