I am not saying we should give him away but I think it’s past time that we move on, and the team should trade him while he still has some value. I am hoping that they can package him with a draft to move up either with our first pick or move up with our second pick to perhaps take a shooter.

Sounds ideal to me. That value will be minimal due to his dire performances though.

No doubt knicks should and likely will explore many options. If Thibs or Atkinson come in then everything is on the table. We draft the best player possible which I doubt pushes Dennis out unless that player out plays him.
Let Dennis fight it out on the court. If he plays well but still loses his value increases. If not, he shall be..........Released. His trade value? Who here can say with any validity. There might be a few teams that might see him as a sort of "Mudiay" type talent that just needs more time. For a fan to lose patience is one thing. We have a whole new front office and likely a coach. He and Trier are in a similar situation, primary ball handlers with shoot first instincts now at the higher level are no longer dominant and required to play defense and be a playmaker. If Dennis's body composition has changed then its a lost cause. Bill Simmons often mentiones in his Podcasts How Marvin Williams, taken before Chris Paul in the draft after coming off the bench his freshman season grew from a lanky long player to a bottom heavy one and his career never quite lived up to his draft expectation. Dennis is build like a linebacker or full back. Some of his quickness lost to power. I can't say to what degree and if its an issue but that back of his might be. Any weakness in his legs loses lift and he is not fundamentally rounded as a player yet to compensate. Blame Mills, Dennis, or circumstances. either way shyt happens and players don't pan out. At the same time Frankie at age 21 is just geting his man legs and was attempting stronger moves to the rim and the confidence. All the while you had an elite defender skill and heart that kept him on the floor. He still has a way to go but at age 21 there is time. Dennis is still young but he has not found a sustained sample that defines him well.
He has a contract, it can be packaged and maybe another team will take him on.
