He's had success in his rookie and sophomore seasons. Can you name one successful season that Mario's had?

he had a great 2nd half of his last season in orlando,I think that's why we signed him. Look like he was coming into his own

Markkanen is a lazy player on both ends and he settles for way too many perimeter shots, that's why is a poor shooter(like frank). Scared of contact

hey its been awhile and look... 1248 making up the same stupid **** he was a few months ago when I checked in

At least you have identified Frank's issue as fear and not ability... so we got that going. Which is nice.

No way the new GM trades away Markkanen:

The Chicago Bulls are set to hire Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas as their vice president of basketball operations, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

I would think all options would be on the table with a new regime being put in place. Both here and in Chicago. Bulls have to figure out if he is part of their future and appriate the money. Coach Boylan might be an issue that Marrrrkkkkkken and others have on the team. He has that old school tough which is admirable but at the same time its not been effective over a longer time.

My biggest fear is now that they have a President of basketball operations they jump at Atkinson while the Knicks and Leon are twiddling their thumbs.

Then we’ll hear nonsense like “we always wanted Miller to be the coach”......

Suprised Nuggs let their guy go. I suppose his contract was up at seaosns end? I was under the impression there was a moratiriaum for no hiring. Season is not over!!
Boyland is still the coach as is miller!!!
I get the predisposition that knicks are lackadaisical but Atkinson is no stupid and he would understnad its best to wait to see all opprtunities open. And........create a market of demand for contract leverage. So its not like Knicks are sleeping on atkinson, the ****ing season is not technically over!
If Miller is not the guy and our target coach is not employed I can very well imagine Leon is on it. For all we know he knows who he wanted when he took the job.
For all we know Atkinson might be the guy which is why he wanted out.

I would love that scenario. He has a lot of ties in NY, and Leon could have told him what’s up through CAA before he divested.

From what we have read and applied logic Atkinson and Marks were hired by a different owner with a long term perspective after a failed run and trades with few picks. They did great. New owner comes in and with the ability to add Durant and Irving the formula changed.
Nalod drone on and on about some owners input. Nets went from a passive owner driven by BIlly King and then to Marks who negotiated autonomy and time to rebuild what failed. Now done, and new owner its logical Kenny Atkinson understood the issues of the tilt from what had been to what is. Not that he is not ambitious, but its a skill set he does not have. Dave Blatt did not have it when Lebron turned the franchise on its head upon his return. Seems that Marks and Atkinson understand the gig and did what’s good for both the team and for Atkinson.
Is the knicks part of that? Very well could be. But not until the season is over!! That could be any moment or September! The draft? Who knows. Markkanen timing was interesting as was Bulls response. Paxson reportedly was ready to move aside. Boylan’s likely gone under new leadership. LIke the knicks all things would be considered with a new team president.
Report: Lauri Markkanen would rather play elsewhere if there aren't major changes to Bulls' plan
