He's been watching and learning from Payton how to use his dribble to get into the paint.

He's learning from somebody because i saw him go coast to coast the other night for the first time in his NBA career. He should have stayed in france for another 2 yrs, or the g league

I still think Rose will trade him because he has more value than DSJ, the FA class sucks, along with draft class, so where would our trade chips come from?

If we do somehow trade for CP3, they will want frank, seeing that most of our one yr contracts will have to be renounced (since they were grossly overpaid) to open up cap space

LOL you are reading this completely wrong

He usually does

Barrett is averaging 19 pts 5 rebs and 3 asts on 48% shooting.
Robinson is averaging 14 pts 8 rebs and 2 blks on 79% shooting.

Hopefully this is going to continue. These guys are the foundation and capable of changing the outlook of this franchise.

Frank and Knox are also showing some minor progress, although the stats aren't fully reflecting that yet besides Frank's big game the other day. But progress is progress.

Loving what RJ and Mitch are doing though and considering it's with such an ill-fitting supporting cast, i think getting the right players with them next year will really bring out their potential.

?

Since all star break for Frank (8 games, so same time period): 9 pts, 3 assists, 45% shooting, 40% from 3, 58% TS, one big lockdown hug on Westbrook.

And that includes last night's stinker where he went 1-7.

Yeah i guess his numbers have jumped a bit. He's just not a big stats guy and isn't doing it consistently yet. I still view him as a backup level player, but I see some growth for sure.

If we draft another pg, that will only hinder his development, which is what we have been doing since we drafted him

These things are not Black and White. Frank plays well with other PGs, especially if his ability to shoot and cut continue to develop.

Draft a guy like Haliburton and they can play off of each other.

I agree with that. Frank can play alongside another combo guard easily.

I rather they then focus on getting better forwards..... Imagine we add Haliburton and Christian Woods

Swap Haliburton for LiAngelo Ball and I might be able to overlook CP3's deal.

I think Frank and Knox have been looking better. These guys have all progressed under Miller. Hopefully that is considered when they begin the search for a coach. Continuity would be a nice change in NY.

Based on winning percentage, Knicks would be 9th in the east if Miller has coached the entire season. Had he gotten an entire season he was on pace for 30-31 wins. A 13-14 game improvement in one season is a nice accomplishment. For me it’s Miller or Atkinson next year.

That is the figure most predictions had us at. No playoffs and about 28-32 wins.

True but that figured Morris into the mix too. We have been winning at a similar rate since trading Morris too. If miller coached the whole year it could have saved Mills job, for better or worse. So maybe we are lucky Fizdale screwed up early.

Its way to convoluted to accuratly assign who is to blame specifically. The process of knick progress is layer upon layer. That Miller and his staff have accelerated then we have to accept who put them in the positon to succeed? Mills hired them. Oops, can't go there and hang at the cool kids lunch table. Who fired Mills? Oh shyt, it was Dolan. So lets say the GM, the guy over see's the coaching staff. "Perry"??? That will also get you booted from the lunch table.
"I want Miller, but want all above him who put him in the position to succeed to be fired"? Hmmm, thats messed up.
Safe to say Frank has improved this year. Break it down in 5 game incremants thru the season. Yearly stats don't tell the whole story. Same for RJ, and Mitch. This is how teams break down progress and futher into where they shoot, % of finishes to rim, spots on the floor, form on shots, how far they are into a shift, etc. We see "Why did they take x player out?? Cuz they get tired, they lose form, they get foul prone, they are fatigued..... Not that a coach is stupid. We get to second guess the bad result.
That said, Mills is gone, Perry is being considered and Rose might have designed to further refine the process in place, starphuch the living daylights or some combo of anything. He might not even know.
What was done was done. All we got is what can be going forward.
What to do with Frank, DSjr, etc depends on opportunities as they arrive or are created by Leon the professional or via the draft. Im resolved we draft 7th or better. The fact is the team playing better the last few weeks moved us from better odds but thats how how it goes. Even Knox looked like he was breaking thru a barrier with is aggressive play. My thesis is he can shoot, but now he is better at other things and the shot comes back.
Frank? He is juking. His % is up the last 10 games and he is feeling it. The shots then fall. Mitch? Too bad if its a short season but he was historical. Give him a short jumper next and then some let it fly.
Who we draft? My thinking is we either draft a guard or trade for one. I'd almost rather trade as we know the yoot need time.
Longest tenured knick is Frank. If traded he is more valuable now then when Berman had his exiles.
