A super entitled celebrity making a big thing out of nothing. I like Spike. I even thought his interpretation of "Old Boy" wasn't that bad. But he sounds as out of touch with regular fans as Dolan.

He didn't bring it up, MSG did..He said ke wasn't going to even mention it until he heard they lied about the situation

Everything related to DOLan is news worthy, especially in the new era of social media where people report tons of worthless news

Spike went on national TV to complain about having to use the VIP entrance. What did MSG lie about? Spike never says.

Imagine deciding you’re such a loyal and regular customer of Burger King, you think you can use whatever entrance you feel like, then going on tv to cry when you’re asked to not use the employee’s one.

I think some people are missing Spike Lee’s point. He says that he had already gotten his ticket scanned and he was inside already on the elevator and he had been using the employee entrance for the past 28 years and no one notified him of a policy change. Security then stops him and demands that he leave MSG, even though his ticket had already been scanned, and demanded that he walk outside and try to re-enter through another entrance. Spike then pointed out that since his ticket had already been scanned he could not re-enter, and If it was a problem for him coming in through the employees entrance, why did they scan his ticket in the first place. They should have simply not let him in that entrance. So if what Spike says is true then I understand why he was upset. That is not how you treat a customer that pays you over $215k per year for tickets.

I think if you paid Martin $215k a year to come watch the game on his couch for the past 28 years and came to the back door and his son let you in, you might be a bit pissed if Martin came in and told you that you need to go back outside and go around to front door (and oh since his son already scanned your ticket, you might not be allowed in through the front door).

Dude's were doing their job, the owner personally came down to explain the situation, should be the end. The rest is just two drama queens going off. I'm not a Dolan apologist and he screwed this up from a PR perspective. Big Time! But Spike seems put of whack here. No one told him to go to the back of the bus. He actually compared this to the Oakley situation. No, Spike doesn't come off as a victim. He comes off as another clown at the rodeo.

I think if MSG had not made any statement or if they simply said there was and issue and it’s been resolved then that would have been the end of it but once MSG, tried to put all the blame on Lee, it then opened the door for Lee to give his rebuttal. The point is this thing never should have happened. If MSG cared about it then they should have told their employees not to let Lee in at that entrance but once he was in to actually ask him go back outside was just dumb.

I can see both sides and I see how both sides f’ed up.

1) The customer is not always right. That is a myth and I wish everyone on Earth would get that through their head. I don’t care how much Spike has paid. He’s not always right.

2) If the Garden sent zero warning and gave Spike this treatment then he is right up to that point. They should have said “Hey, we’ll let you go this time but next time you have to take the VIP entrance, no matter what, please and thank you.”

3) If the Garden was warning Spike all along, then he is 100% wrong and he comes off as and stubborn entitled, despite the money he has paid.

4) Spike telling Dolan to f’ off was wrong.

5) This whole internet and media fight is wrong on both of their parts.

I think the higher paying customers should get a little better treatment. There are boundaries though and I never had a regular who didn’t begin to be entitled.

That is always a risk and Spike just showed how.

Knicks have their best win of the year with encouraging play from their younguns over a top team and today it's about Spike and more knick bashing.

I hope that "Laughable" was not meant to embarrass Spike because he was being a dick on video but the internet reaction was "laughable". If Spike went down the rabbit hole of a diva he has the benefit of the doubt.
KNicks Tweet was a bit defensive in nature and understandably so. If innocent they wanted to prove it. By doing that, did they embarrass spike int his defensive stance? Dolan seeminly did the right thing by settling it with SPike. Question is was spike going on location rest of season anyway? Did he look so bad in the video and Knick response inflame him even more? Are knicks so stupid to actually have done everything Spike says they did?

Im sure they'll figure out a way to make it up to him.
Rumor was Knicks offered Spike:

1. Piece of Tendon from KP's knee.
2. A weekend with Rebecca
3. in home cooked meal with celebrity chef Charles Oakley.
4. Build his own entrance to the arena. Phantom of the Opera kind of stuff.
5. $50 Sbarro card and merch gift card.

I think your bit too harsh, people are going to make a big deal because it's Dolan and he has a history of treating fans and former players like trash .

This could have happen in Charlotte and no one cares (its an isolated incident) but with DOLAN and the way he treats the media, they will be quick to make this into a big story..HEY WORLD DOLAN IS AT IT AGAIN, THIS TIME TO A POPULAR FAN WHO HAS SUPPORTED THE TEAM FOR 50+ YRS...

I get it. Dolan is a clown. Does that mean you have to sink to his level and join the media circus? The security guards are speaking calmly and Spike is telling, going on about being cuffed like Oakley. I'm like chill eff out dude.

Collection? Are tea rolling or something? Or did you mean collection of empty bottles or cans?

Spike is calling the Michael Kay show now. He said the Knicks never once before yesterday told him to not use the employee entrance. He claims he was set up for that photo.

I mean that if you come to my house we will drink good beer.

And you can come into the house by any entrance you want, except the back and the garage. VIP is thru the front.

I know, just messing. While I'm there I can start screen printing shirts with Spike Lee say sell the team and pay scorebot a liveable wage!
