Now that reddit is saying it I feel redeemed.

I did? Awe. Who else did you mention?
i could check but then i would need to look at your posts again and their painful of rambling rhetorical questions.

Even I wouldn't want to reread my posts!
Kudo's if you made it up yourself!
I remember we were excited about Layden because of the work he did in Utah. This was back before they had Team Presidents that mattered.
My thinking was Rose wants a GM that is "Modern" but if he is a delegator might need a strong GM type that has the cred.
Rhetorically speaking......Is track record over rated? Guy makes some good picks as a scout and shows a penchant for talent, but then he is promoted and now has responsibilities beyond.
There are elements of luck and elements of fit. A scout makes a couple of good calls, is it sustainable? What are the conditions by which change?
Tapscott? He picks Fred Weis.
From Wiki:
Tapscott formerly worked in the New York Knicks’ front office, including a stint as interim president and general manager. He’s perhaps best remembered in New York for the 1999 drafting of French center Frederic Weis who never played a game in the NBA, but much less credited for formulating the New York Knicks team, which culminated its season in the 1999 NBA Finals.
My babble is we assign blame and glory to guys that sometimes are not the key driver and forget that we are not in the room when the decisions happen. I suspect Leon having worked as an agent has some strong opinions on who he wants to run this team. That he has never done it does not bother me one bit. The reason is success or failure does not transfer with the hire. It does not hurt if a guy has succeeded but its no assurance it continues and same visa versa. If Leon Wants Ryan West, Ok. If he wants Scott Layden, Im down with that too! Scott won't have to deal with Ewing again. won't have to worry about trading for Marbury.
He wants to wheel out Donnie, Fine by me. These are good guys with good personalities and likable. Isiah was not so.
Leon succeeded on the other side of the negotiating table. Hope it works!!
