To me sounded like he was saying that was in the past and he's going to fix things going forward. Either way, we don't need no branding consultant. What's he going to do, have a little kid in a leather jacket and shades singing a Knick rap.
Why does Dolan always screw up?
It was a mistake to even do the interview. What was the best possible outcome? ESPN thrives on making a joke of the Knicks. So why did we give them access? Who OK'd the interview?? That person is an idiot. If you're going to re-brand something you don't come out and say it... lol. My god.... you do it in a way that influences people's perceptions in a subtle way. The quality of pre-game and halftime entertainment. Maybe you attract some bigger names to sing the anthem. Maybe you change the feeling in the arena. You influence the marketing. You do all that and then you survey to see if people's perceptions have changed a little bit. Buick has been running ads for several years to change younger people's perception of a staid brand. It's a long process to change people's perceptions. Winning is the best deodorant! Make the product better and you don't have to worry about branding, the team will brand itself! We're the #1 money-making team. We don't need some guy on TV saying "hey kids, we're cool now"
I'm convinced....Dolan enjoys firing more than hiring. That's why everybody he hires, he eventually fires....its like Dolan is the grem reaper....Snatching careers from players, coaches, GMs and Presidents..
I think the pressure of being in the mecca and want to show the fans you belong, is hurting this team. Hockey doesnt have that same problem because NY is not the mecca for Hockey....I think it's a Canadian team or someplace cold.
We suppose to represent the place where the best ballers come from and play at. At least that's how it used to be. Fast forward to now amd you have little kids asking me, why are you a knicks fan? They suck....lol
He only fires the front office people and he is slow to do that. The only guys he was quick to fire were Grunwald and sort of Walsh. Walsh was forced on him and Grunwald was successful. Mills and Isiah both got soft landings after being really bad for a long time. Remember how loyal he was to Layden? Phil? He just hires the wrong people and then gives them too long to correct their mistakes that keep compounding themselves. He might have pulled the trigger at the right time on Mills as it appears some deals were going to be made to lock the team in as a 35 win team for the next 5 years.
I agree with most of what your saying, but it was a mistake trading morris
By trading Morris you once again showed (the fans, the young guys, the coaches) that winning is not a priority...Because the only way that Miller, Perry, or any of this roster had a real chance to remain with the franchise is if we started winning...
I know some will disagree, but when JVG was in a similar situation as MIKE MILLER the only thing that saved him was WINS..
winning is synonymous with stability.
You think if the knicks are on a 7 or 8 game winning streak that Stout would have said that so easily (it would be more wait and see)
be bad for 5 yrs if we traded for DLO and kept Morris?
Or be bad for 5 yrs after drafting another a 5 yr project?
