I agree with you they should have made it over plumlee, dwight howard, javale mcgee, and derrick white. It really sucks for mitch robinson no rising star game and no olympics roster spot.
NO real young guys on it. Not even Trae. Mitch can make it in 2024 i think. Vets will always get the call here.
I didn't realize Trae wasn't on the list. That's insane. Don't really know how they're putting the team together then
They are focused on the superstars first and filling out the roster with a few veteran roles players. Trae doesn't really fall into the superstar category yet.
Trae without question is a super star, the dude just dropped 48 on us, the game before that he had 39 points and 18 assist, and has had more 40 point games this season then any other player not name lillard. So I'm really curious as to how they come up with this list..
You can either do some research or absorb what others contribute to elevate the collective IQ of the site.

If I had to guess, some of those that were on the list have previous USA basketball experience either on practice squads and under 18 to make the list. Its not just a talent thing. Both Derrick WHite and Plum have this qualification previously.
So while its not absolute its part of the equation. The do take into consideration previous commitments to team USA. While Mitch was invited he was unable to come.
There are over about 430 nba players. I think about 75% are American born, so you have a pool of 322 players.
