Calling Tim Thomas a waste of space is like how the Yankee fans call Bernie Williams a waste of space (Yet he hits the HR for us last night). He played solidly for us last season. His defense isn't that great, b/c he has a poor concentration level, but he still did good things, particularly on offense, and he can fit in with our plans nicely. I don't see him breaking out to be a star, but he can still play solidly, and help us win games. All I ask from him is to go grab more rebounds and concentrate more on defense, with that gifted body of his, that anyone would kill to have.

I agree that TT is solid and a good fit for this team. Hopefully after his contract is up, Isiah can resign him to a smaller one and people can begin to see how valueable he is. (Of course, that would mean we DON'T trade him as an expiring contract).

Isiah is in a great spot regarding TT. For one, this will be a pivotal yr for Tim Thomas.

He'll be looking to escalate his game to the next level knowing that there is a young talented 19 yr old small forward awaiting his turn.(Trevor Ariza)

ALso, TT will be heading towards an expiring contract next season so if he plays really good, he's value with rise up especially @28 yrs of age. Teams will be looking to slash payroll so that's another asset Isiah will be looking to use in order to get someone real good.

Given up on TT is like given up on a guy like TMack. This dude's skills can be far better than TMack's if you all think about it. Here is a dude whom is about 6'10", plays like a SG, has an inside out game, and most of all is still young and eager to learn the game. I agree with those of you who said that this kid is sometimes lost on the court, but you can't blame him. Often it takes a good coach and a great orchestrator (PG) to push a guy like Timmy to perform night in and night out. Marburry is an excellent PG, but he will never be considered great until he can make other players around him great. Kidd has done it with Richard Jefferson and Martin, now Marburry needs to do the same with TT and either Naser or Sweetney. I applaude what Lenny had told him at the end of the season, he had given TT the perfect advise: get in a gym and strenghten his back, and learn how to be tough. The incident that he endured at the end of the season will make a man out of this cat. When you play for a warrior like Zeke, playing tough is a norm.

Don't give up on this cat, he will surprise a lot of you this coming season.
