With ewing, he was all business, but lets not forget a few things about patrick, he was not always about the city, not about the fans, he was all business. Not taking anything away, but he was always willing to leave! I admire the job he did, was a true professional in every way, a warrior, but he was all business. We fans are nostalgic and want him to bring the past with him. And we are emotional. Patrick was all business!

And I doubt anything has changed. I love him too, but he wants to be head coach one day, which means we gotta fire him at some point. They all get fired, or quit.

now.. I know we (at least slightly disagree) on what Isiah payed to get them, but what do you think of Marbury, Crawford, TT, Sweetney (I inserted him as the starter on wishfull thinking) and Nazr as a unit?

Offensively they could score some points. But that's assuming one ball is enough for Marbury, Crawford and TT. It also assumes that Crawford can play within a structured offense without the ball. That's a huge if considering he couldn't stay within the system in Chicago and just shot whenever he felt like it which was often. TT has to get his head out of his ass and stay focused out there instead of disappearing for long periods of time.

Sweetney and Nazr are the 2 best options in the frontcourt because they need somebody who can rebound. Sweetney is their best rebounder and Nazr is the best out of a poor center contingent. The fact that Sweetney isn't very consistent with his jumper and Nazr couldn't hit one if his life depended on it, could be a problem since the other teams center and PF wouldn't have to come out to play them so the lane would be clogged for would be penetrators. If they played KT out of position at the C spot, I wouldn't mind that since he has more of an offensive game than Nazr but with the 3 scorers out there already it might not matter.

Defensively that's a pretty awful unit. Pretty scary actually. They better be good offensively because they aren't going to stop anybody on defense.

on paper or defense may not look like last years pistons but we do have some speed and quickness on defense all around and that alone can cause problems, true we are lacking that shot blocker but we can play the lanes, and use our speed to cause trouble...

Offensively I think this team can score points, I don't think there was ever a problem with teams like dallas who had 3 big scorers over there, I think if the knicks push the ball more and create more opportunities the shots will be there...

I agree. On paper, I think we have a top 5 scoring team and a slightly below average defensive team. The team is improved on both ends of the court from last year, though.

Top 5 in what? The Atlantic?

Maybe Kareem left Isiah hanging with a high five, and he fired him!

I hear that not throwing enough rose petals in front of Isiah as he walks down the MSG hallways is also a fireable offense.

Islesfan, did you get dunked on by a guy who looked like Isiah when you were a kid or something? Whatever you're going through sounds like something related to a tragic event. Did you loose money betting against the Pistons some years ago? Wanna talk about it?

LOL Since Isiah is handling the GM duties more efficiently than anyone has in a long time with the Knicks, the haters can only criticize based on petty pessimistic speculation and only have the fickle words of the media to feed from.

Laydown loyalists, the old KVH club, or the just plain "uninformed"...

Absolutely hilarious, yet disgustingly pathetic.

Luckily, those of us who take pride in logic and intelligence are rightfully pleased with the direction in which the Knicks are moving.

Now as far as Kareem goes, he'll be okay. IMO he'll end up making a significant contribution as a big-man assistant coach somewhere before his next big gig.

Kool-Aid? Whateva... I prefer Isiah's flavor of making this team better, over the piss we were all forced to drink under the LayDown regime.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Good Post, this is what I totally agree with. Isiah is sending this team in the right direction from the Layden ashes. Let the games begin!
