Vanfleet would be a good get but I think we would almost have to max him to outbid Toronto and even then they might match. Realistically, we would be better off doing a trade for Lowry and starting Lowry until Frank or DSJ are ready to take over as both appear to be 1 or 2 years away from being solid starting pgs.
Lowry's age and contract tho... Someone like George Hill has a more manageable contract at $9 million and I think only about one million is guaranteed after next year.
Hill would be good. We should have sign Rubio this summer. In any case, we need to sign or draft someone who is a clear starter. Our lack of competent pg play is killing everything and is forcing Randle to try and do too much.
I agree about Randle. If you get him a PG he becomes that efficient 20 ppg player again and good starting player. A team built around Barrett, Mitch, Randle, VanVleet and another guard or wing via 2020 1st round is a huge step in the right direction. And even with VanVleet at 30+ mil a year there will be max cap space available in 2021 because the only commitments are to VanVleet and the rookie contracts.
