The first thing I think of when it comes to Stephen A is him totally flipping out when Porzingis was drafted because we should have taken Stanley Johnson. The next thing I think of is a meltdown over the landing of ping pong balls in the recent lottery, as if it were the Knicks fault.

And then so on.

Yup. It’s crazy. The reward far outweighed the risk. Durant is not Amar’e or Melo. He was worth waiting on.

I understand what you guys are saying. I would have been fine if we signed KD even with the high risk of an Achilles injury...but.... Not signing KD and signing players for 2 year contracts is the next best thing. Signing second tier max players like Kemba, Butler, Tobias and the like would be the wrong move.

I’m not mad we didn’t get Kemba or Butler. I’m mad we didn’t offer Durant the max. That is close to unforgivable.

I hear you, but I can see the reasoning of not offering the max for a superstar with an Achilles injury who will be 32 when he comes back. My son asked me when Kevin went down "Would I still sign Durant for the max?". My answer was idk. I can go either way. They went to Plan B and I am ok with that. The only thing I didn't like is the information coming out that they didn't want KD. Just keep quiet and go about your business. just your typical Dolan action I guess.

At this point of media madness its really hard to see what is real and what is just talk.

Woj reports that the Knicks didn't even had a meeting with Durant because all went down fast. At the same time we know the front office was in LA ready to sign Randle, Gibson and Portis.

We have been made to believe by the whole media that Durant and the Knicks had secret meetings, that it was a done deal, that Kyrie was involved and all that jazz.

But the truth is that most of that has been rumors and media speculation. Now people are down on the Knicks like they went against their word or something? These all are just reports and rumors. Fact is come signing time, Knicks front office was in LA taking care of the free agents they had deals with and Durant was signing with Kyrie and Jordan in Brooklyn.

The media is having a feast with all of this and we are allowing them to turn the story whichever way they want. Take all the rumors out and what do you have: two parts that were clearly moving in different ways.

Well, Woj just reported that this is not a leaked info from MSG. The reason they/we didn't offer the max is because we were not in the hunt for KD's services. We never got to the point of offering the max.

I call that out any day of the week. the minute Durant went down they would not offer him the max. Reports were out last week about this. You cant make an offer until FA begins, I dont blame them on not signing durant but that bogus bs letter mills releases sucked *** the owner should learn to keep his mouth shut and make promises his check book cant/wont keep.

Cant trust the media. Their jobs is too create controversy and "big news' even if its really fake. No I do think Durant was our target but the injury changed everything which I understand because once he got injured I wanted nothing to do with that contract. But the media of course spins it in a way that make us look bad

But at least he keeps his ratings.

Sports reporting has been at such alow ebb for so long that screaming now gets clicks and ratings.
Good for Steven A.

Let's see what happens while Brooklyn plays waiting for KD. Should be interesting to see what Uncle Drew does to that locker room over the next year.
