This. I think they kick the tires on Kawhi and then sign DLo. I think he has to be reluctant to return to the Lakers. Also, he can be a star on the Knicks and he could know kick the Nets @ss four times a year.

Assuming the remaining free agent desired targets are elsewhere (eg Kawhi, Klay, D.Russell) - should we use remaining money to bring back Vonleh, Kornet and maybe even Mario on 1 year deals? I really think Vonleh and Kornet on cheap deals are helpful - as they are familiar with the team and still possess some room to develop. If we could, love to go after Pat Beverly on 2 year deal so we have some defensive play in the backcourt. When Knox and DSJr start chucking - we could actually sit them down and play Pat and Taj in their place.

KD getting hurt was obviously unpredictable so FO cannot be faulted for that

But if we skunk out on Kawhi one can legitimately question the KP trade again. How much better or worse would we be. The holy salary cap flexibility has yielded the second or third tier players we swore off (thankfully not for huge terms)

If I were Dolan I'd either sell the team or fire everyone

subsequently amended to remind people that we're also building around our young core. Yikes we can't even get a defensive sounding press release right

we're a literal laughing stock at this point

Salivating over KP is like a battered wife, who wants to be with a husband that doesn't want her.

KP and his brother got what they wanted....To play in Dallas away from the NY media and fan pressure / expectations. Now he can hide behind other stars and get the mentorship he always wanted from Dirk.

It's time to move on.

finding a young player that will thrive in NY is easier said than done, and that exact thing is here and is proven

the point wasn't so much about KP as it was about our incompetent FO and CS

My own sense is KP truly wanted to be a Knick but was fed up when he saw the team going from bad to worse. He was immature and impatient, and his brother is an a-hole. But it's also true we failed as an organization, starting with Phil and continuing through the current organization

I think all of the Phil stuff soured him on the Knicks. I think he wanted an extension more than he wanted the team to get better this offseason. Maybe that pushed him away more but it was the right move for the team. That is the only thing the current management team did that could have angered him in my opinion. No regrets in regards to KP. He didn't want to be a Knick. Take the best deal and move on. KD was a Knick if he didn't tear his Achilles.

I like Rondo. He has a championship already and can mentor the kids, super high IQ player. Just make sure we don't sign him to anything longer than 2 years.
Rose is not the answer.
