I agree w you. Pair dsj with Dotson

Lol..frank

Who in the world is starting frank and you have at least 3 all star Pg's in FA.

Cmon let it go

I don't think we give up on Frank yet. HE has talent. He can shoot. He can defend and the one thing he actually showed is that he is a real PG.

All about confidence. His confidence in his own ability, and the team's confidence in him.

There were two players that would of been perfect. Obviously one was Zion and the other is Barrett. Both wanted to come here, which shows that NY is still seen as attractive. But RJ really fits well with our future. Yes there are things he needs to work on but he is still a kid. I love his attitude all around

I am glad they got RJ. He may be the best player in this draft years from now. He has that kind of ability.

Now the team is starting to take shape. Let's trust in Scott Perry. He has done very well so far. I am hoping for another 1st rounder here...get a sleeper late.

We were dependent on what Memphis did, or course, but I had no real feel for anyone but Barrett at this spot.

Might have done the Atlanta trade for 8 & 10, but don't know about the depth of this draft.

WoW so this is how it feels when you have a top 3 pick, draft the expected top talent available and the guy not only seems ready for NY but he is actually excited to be here?

Pumped up!

Two things knicks1248 hates more than anything. Not trading all our draft picks for veterans and not trading frank lol

Frank & RJ are gonna become a dynamic 2-Way tandem back-court .. that will refuse to tank-tank the season

They both like to push the ball, both willing passers, both play above the rim. Throw in Knox and Mitch, and that looks like a playoff sleeper. That is with a few vets, like Jordan, to name one. Need more experience.

I don't mean to be a Debbie-Downer but DSJr struggled to realize his potential playing next to an offensive savant like Luka Doncic. Why are you optimistic that he'll mesh with someone who might be more ball dominant and a worse shooter?

Rumor has it that the Knicks are/were looking to trade Frank Ntilikina for draft assets but Dennis Smith Jr shouldn't have been too far behind either. I actually think that Ntilikina projects to be a better fit next to Barrett since he has skills as a specialist (defensive stopper) and looks to operate off the ball, first and foremost. If Frank ever develops a shot, I don't think there is a question about who we should rally around as Barrett's backcourt mate: the Patrick Beverly to his James Harden.

Then again, look how well a team built around an extremely ball dominant 2-guard (and 4 guys that stand around watching him) gets in the playoffs. It's one of the major reasons I felt we should've liquidated some of the value of our youth to facilitate us getting Morant. Water under-the-bridge at this point though. At least we ended up with an asset if not necessarily a building block.

This 19 year old has more balls than any vet star free agent- they're all scared to come here, but he relishes the opportunity to try and bring us back

Its easy, Doncic is a ball dominant player, which took the ball out of Smith's hand. Dont see Barrett dominating the ball like Doncic does. He was playing point forward, and Smith was quickly pushed aside to make room. Dont see Barrett being named full time PG.

Bears repeating that an injured DSjr played better in his first game as a Knick, than Frank has over his entire NBA career. So when I hear about "fit" I can only politely disagree. He knew practically no one on the team, but still was finding teammates.

Unless its a deal for a star or a rising star, believe its beyond silly to ship Smith out after a handful of games. Smith's defense can be better, not as bad as Ive heard. Even when he wasnt 100 percent.

Great Point Gustav. I think RJ is gonna fit well with DSJ and bring out more in his game. John Calipari said that it may take a couple year but teams will regret passing on Knox. He was so young and raw that of course there were ups and downs but he has a bright future. I love Mitch!!!. I think Perry has done a good job and im happy to hear that he isnt being pressured into handed out huge contracts to 2nd tier guys

This!! Perry has done a great job. So nice having a pro GM who knows the inner workings of the NBA and does his homework. Have not been dissapointed with any of his moves or signings since he came to the Knicks. As you said, he stays away availabledcrazy panic moves and has made the best option available pick two years in a row. Really happy we got the 3rd pick and removed any urge of reaching for Ja Morant. He may turn out to be a better player but is the bigger risk IMO. Although I feel Perry would have taken RJ at 2 due to RJs long history of excellence in HS, Olympics and with Duke.
