If your Center can't space the floor, he should be coming off the bench. mitch took a total of 291 shots, only 2 of those shots were beyond 5 feet of the rim, and none were a 3pt attempt.

Clint, Gobert, Adams, Drummond, these guys impact in the PO were awful. Both GWS and the Raptors don't have Centers that can't space the floor, that's why they ended up up being the last 2 standing.

we still were one of the worst defensive teams in the league despite Jordan and Mitch

Gobert was great in the playoffs. Mitchell shot like 30%. Those who actually followed would know this.
Drummon was a vacuum. Detroit shot 38% for the series and you say stupid stuff like he awful.
Capella did what he always does. Problem was Harden did NOT. However if you watched the sport you would know Harden does this every year.

So basically, as usual literally the opposite of what you say is true

Probably not ready to be a full time starter on a playoff or contending team. But I don’t know if that’s what they Knicks will be next season. He has shown enough to not commit large salary or long term contract to the position. Stop gap vet big to split the load and work with him sure. But unless there are players we should be targeting at his position. Knicks kind of have to throw mins at him.

The modern "full time" center plays only 25-30mpg. Gobert's a bit of an outlier (~32mpg) as Utah tries to slow down their game. they have athletic wings and guards that can slow down the opposing attack.

Mitchell Robinson is extremely fast and athletic so the Knicks may be able to keep him on the floor like 2016-2017 or 2017-2018 Capela. I think penciling him in for 30+mpg may be a bit overboard to expect, given his foul rate and how hard/fast he plays.

Keep in mind how many blocks he had at the 3 point line

Unlike most centers he can switch onto a guard. He has the ability to guard Giannis.

He develops his arsenal even modestly on offense and he will be nasty. He just needs to stay hungry and be coached up

If/when he shows a reliable jumper he will not only be a legit starter, he would be in the all-star conversation

I know that the mid range shot is an afterthought in todays sabermetrics-driven NBA. I will ask you this then: would you rather have Mitch develop post moves to clog the lane (not such a great idea imho) or the 3 point shot which works better in todays NBA but takes Mitch out of position for offensive rebounds and putbacks which he is so good at?

I think that the best/easiest way to include MRob in our offensive schemes is to put him in a PnR situation where he could become Amare 2.0 . The only thing then is finding our Steve Nash 2.0. Thats a tall order. Maybe RJ can become his PnR mate.

Those awful guys 1248 mentions, all in the playoffs. It’s a different level of awful.
Seems the champion Raptors had a guy that was able to hit the three. His name was Gasol.
His game grew. He credits a certain coach with expanding his game.
