Do we still sign KD if he doesn't play in the Finals and he tore his calf muscle?

Any ways it’s seems greednof money may actually surpass the greed to win.

Can't believe there are so many articles, teammates and fans saying KD can/should play--you have no idea how severe his injury. Stuff like that is what turned Kawhi against the spurs

He should play his team needs him. As for severity everyone has their thresholds for pain. It’s been over a month now and strained muscles. Willis F’ing Reed came out the tunnel for his team.

He shouldn't risk his career and long term health--go ask grant Hill. These same people saying he should return despite having no idea as to the severity of his injury, are the same people who a week ago were saying they're a better team without him

What is he getting paid for. Every game is a risk of losing a career. That’s why they get paid the way they do.

Of course, because they are robots that have to perform not even if their bodies allow them because they are paid millions. Very sound logic.

If its bad logic dictates he does not opt out if there is a problem long term.
He does not owe his employer his life or his career.
Dr.s cleared him to practice. Then he has to see how it feels after and before the game.
This guy has been iron his career, Who are we to judge with only opinions?

They get paid to play. Normal man doesn’t even get this type of opportunity for fear of his job. They get guaranteed contracts it been a month more now. As far as I’m concerned this cat is afraid because he is gonna miss out on another contract. KD isn’t playing for the love of the game. Thompson tough it out. Looney roughed it out. Pat Ewing roughed it out until his body gave out.

I have seen people with far greater injuries in real life tough it out and they do it put food on the table and roof over their head. This is the finals you have an off season to heal.

Not only that, he should risk his life if need be!!!! Damn straight, all those men who died on the beach in Normandy and this dude can't win another title for the fans? Not just the Tech Billionairs, but the fans in Oakland who struggle to put food on the table, for the migrant farm workers who pick the Almonds, for the guy who sweeps the floors, and for all the people who buy jerseys!!! Pat Ewing died for our sins, Durant won't even play basketball!!!!

My dad fought in WW2!!!!!! I used to wait on tables in college! Worked construction in college to pay the bills!!!
I mow my lawn!!!! Dammit, I mow my phuching lawn!!! Even when Im injured!!! That's right, I put a wrap on my leg, and mow the goddamn lawn!!!! Who the phuch is Durant and who the phuch does he think he is!!! Im gonna wait until he signs with the knicks, then burn his Jersey!!!

I’m sorry I may be coming off as rude or insensitive but they get paid to play with guaranteed contracts. Injuries are freaky and it can happen anytime. It can happen in college or high school. Truth be told KD is financially set for this lifetime and beyond. As for Thomas and Hill they are well paid and like I said injuries are freaky can happen when ever. I don’t get the bubble wrap treatment especially for a strained muscle that has had well over a month to heal. For every Hill and Isaiah Thomas there the Jordan and The Isiah Thomas of Pistons.

As a long time KNick fan, I would expect that KD WILL tear his achilles as soon as the ink is dry on his contract with the Knicks.

I have been cautious with KD because of his age. HE is the best player but will he be in the last 2 years of the deal? Is KD another STAT?

I think NY should go for the younger players like Klay and Kawhii as priorities.

Yes, injuries are a fluke and can happen to anyone at any age. KD has been good most of his career but it is just logical that he will start having issues as his career winds down.

they MUST get a full medical report on him prior to talking to him. if he is unwilling, then move on.

I would play knowing I have a chance at a third championship. Michael Jordan would have played. LeBron would play. Scottie Pippen would have played. I question KD I question his will to want to win. I question him because he isn’t even sitting on the bench. There is a lot more going on with KD and GS than meets the eyes. It looks like his agent is making the call if he plays or not.

I'd rather take the $140mil and 4 more years of my career - if he re-signed with the warriors he'd have 4 more shots at a ring

Have you ever torn a calf muscle? Do you understand no two are the same? Do you assume if you can't see KD on the bench you know what he is thinking? Do you really equate yourself with Lebron, Michael and Pippen?
Of course you would play. Your that kind of thread poster!!!

Pippen? Do you remember when he took himself out of a game when Phil called Kukoc's number and Pippen melted into a diva?
Goats don't do that.

IM sorry, why did Jordan miss two seasons? He took himself out. What was that? Legal troubles? Nervous breakdown? Gambling addiction? Was he juicing and got caught? What was that???

Lebron never got hurt in the playoffs.

All I got to say to you is “Willis Reed”!!!

Willis got hurt and then came back for game seven. He played like 20 minutes, Knicks destroyed Lakers mentality and had a big lead. He did not play in Second half.

Game seven. You think Willis could have come back for more games after that? It was game seven. Your equating that KD could have saved the day in game 4. You have no idea. IM not saying I do, but Im not the one calling him out.
Willis act was heroic. Still the single greatest moment in NBA playoff history. His grit lifted HIS team and they destroyed the lakers. He kept Wilt to two shots in the first half. Defense and ball denial. If he was a parameter player he would have not been able to do that.

KD is not Willis. WE know that.
Knicks was WILLIS' team. Warriors are not KD's team. Warriors have three chips in this era. That was the knicks first
and first for that era. KD is not a sociopath like Jordan. He is not Bill Russell, or the physical god that Lebron has been in his reign. Would LeBron have played on a torn calf? Maybe its more of a bad ass to no have torn a calf? Cuz Lebron don't get hurt like that in the playoffs. But as you said, its freaky thing that can end a career.

Answer the question, have you ever torn a calf muscle and had an MRI on it?
I won't tell you KD is being soft, cuz I don't know the degree of his torn. Your making it a generic one "tear" fits all.

If it is an Achilles tear, that would be more of an incentive for Perry/Mills to ink a short term deal. We've been here before, dont want to see the Knicks go down that road again.

These same people saying he should return despite having no idea as to the severity of his injury, are the same people who a week ago were saying they're a better team without him

. . . and kevin mchale.

Its just funny how out pretensions can reach such a ridiculous level that we not only think we know a situation, but WE ARE DAMN SURE THAT THINGS ARE GOING THE WAY WE THINK and we make judgement based on that.

How can you do this without looking at the mirror and seeing all the crap you are covered with?

You play in the league, for so many seasons, competing to win championships. You are the defending champion. Your team needs you. YOU REALLY THINK THAT IF HE WASN'T POSSIBLY RISKING HIS HEALTH HE WOULDN'T BE OUT THERE?

Oh, just because we live in a cynical world and we expect the worst from people doesn't give us the right to assume anything about somebody else's life! NO RIGHT AT ALL!

For us, this is entertainment that we switch off once its done or even if its boring us. The league is done and we switch to another league or to play GM in boards like this.

For them its their lives and the lives of their families, real serious decisions. And just because we think we know, we can assume their motivations to do or not do something when ALL THAT'S OUT THERE TO JUDGE IS MOSTLY RUMORS AND GOSSIP?

WTF people? Where is trying to be objective? Where is the empathy?

so, if you were in his position: you're saying you would play?

I would play knowing I have a chance at a third championship. Michael Jordan would have played. LeBron would play. Scottie Pippen would have played. I question KD I question his will to want to win. I question him because he isn’t even sitting on the bench. There is a lot more going on with KD and GS than meets the eyes. It looks like his agent is making the call if he plays or not.

I'd rather take the $140mil and 4 more years of my career - if he re-signed with the warriors he'd have 4 more shots at a ring

Then you don’t love the game anymore.

maybe he loves his family and the unborn generations more than basketball. I don't fault you for playing but if I'm being real with myself, I would protect the generations. KD isn't going to be considered greater than LeBron, forget Jordan, so I would only go if I was ready. Also, I am not talking about yanking myself if I'm 85% like Jeremy Lin

Do we still sign KD if he doesn't play in the Finals and he tore his calf muscle?
