With the pressure of AD potentially wanting out on the pels - is it too far fetched that they look to make a move and part with their first rounder to get more firepower into their lineup and make a playoff push?

Worst case - they make a playoff run and the first rounder sucks but we shed tim
Best case - they suck even with tim and we get a late lottery pick in addition to a salary dump

If im being an unrealistic fan how about adding frank to it and taking back the expiring of wesley johnson?

I don't think you get a first-rounder back either.

I keep watching the Chandler Parsons drama in Memphis. Timmy and Hezonja for Parsons works more or less.

Not sure what Parsons has left in the tank but I'd roll those dice. And if not Timmy then maybe Kanter and an expendable.

Why would we give up the better player and take on worse money? What you're suggesting would be a coup for the Grizzlies.

It's a risky deal but it does move Timmy to a contender and kinda sorta allows the FO to package Hezonja without losing face.

Iff (If and only if) Parsons still has some game it might be a trade worth making.

Parson hasn't played in nearly 2 full seasons. Why is there any expectation he has any game left? And why would we add nearly $7 million to our payroll to find out?

This is just me talking aloud but $7M is a cheap cost to get rid of THJ and Hezonja or Kanter and filler, IMO. I'm not buying into the MAX FA fantasies. Don't want any.

We're getting rid of THJr to get a more expensive player that is also a worse asset. That logic doesn't make sense. I'm not a proponent of trying to sign anyone to the max but that doesn't mean we should be a charity, either.

If he can't play you take the medical exception.

Yeah, if a player has a season-ending injury. But Parsons' issue seems to be chronic and although it will keep him out for extended periods throughout the season, he'll still be infrequently available, which moots that option.

To me, even dead weight is better than the clutter we have with THJ and Hezonja. Just eliminating some of the noise would improve the chemistry. I want to see Frankie, Dot, MR, and the rest of the kids getting minutes. The no-defense players need to go even for a bag of chips.

Are you paying attention to what's going on with Parsons? He still regards himself as a rotation player and is demanding minutes and being a distraction for the Grizzlies as we speak. You're basically paying $7 million more to our payroll for him to do the same with us. This idea of yours makes zero sense.

From what I've read, Parsons is not being a distraction. He feels like he can play and oesn't understand why he isn't. Given our situation he could give it a spin here. What's the harm?

I feel like I've already stated and re-stated the harm in getting Parsons under the circumstances you prescribed. We'll have to agree to disagree at this point.
