I'm not buying the roster is trash because we have seen them played at a high level. Aside from frank and lance, most of the players main players can put 20 points and can play decent defense.

The problems is the effort is the effort, and JH does not get his players to play hard.

What sense does it make to have any kind of roster if the players aren't going to play hard, it don't take talent to play with urgency, we have players that are getting worse by the game.

We can listen to the same BS you spout all the time, or we can listen to Tim Hardaway who said this AFTER the coach blasted his defense during a TO

someone smarter than knicks1248 wrote:“He’s doing a great job in a tough situation,’’ Hardaway said of Hornacek. “Coaches are in a tough situation too. It’s easy for him to fold as well. He’s continuing to develop us as ballplayers, continuing to encourage us on both ends of the floor, especially in practice, continuing to have that killer instinct and mentality to instill in the ball club. We appreciate that and we’ll keep on fighting for him.’’

I mean if your going to quote players, here's lee

“It’s not really what the team is doing. It’s what we’re making mistakes on. We’re making mistakes on our basic rotations that we’ve been doing all year. We’re still making those same mistakes,” Lee said. “That’s the frustrating part.”

“When you watch film, it’s just all effort,” Lee said Monday after practice in Tarrytown, his first non-game work with the team in nearly a week following a death in the family. “Effort is the key to everything. It takes no talent to run from the paint out to contest a 3-point shot, that’s just all effort. We have to get everybody’s effort. Everybody’s got to be locked in

So then mills is bringing terrible players, the guy you think will bring us back to respectability, signed BURKE, Bease, THJ, Baker, jack, and traded for Kanter and mudaiy

I was praising the hell out of JH the first month of the season, so this is not some rant.

good quote. Try reading it. Seems like Lee is calling out the players not the coach.

Yes its Mill's fault. Didnt he also say we are rebuilding? Yes he did. This is what you get. Yes... they are some crappy players and some that arent ready or know how to win in the league. Do you understand how rosters are built and players aquired in the NBA? Your the guy who wanted to give up young guys and pics for players like Bledsoe and Kemba. Your the guy who wants to be more like Miami, a team stuck in no mans land and no chance to win a title anytime sooner than the Knicks. Your the guy who wanted to bring back Derrick Rose.

Blame who you want. We have yet ANOTHER GM with crap to cleanup from the last. What player do you want the Knicks to get? Labrun?

we loss to Dallas, ATL, and chicago at home, thats just a lack of pride, heart and effort because none of those teams are more talented, not to mention we loss to a few teams that had their BEST PLAYERS out.

Your just like the rest of the knicks FO..Zero accountability for anyone. Mills is cleaning up his mess, PHIL didn't scout Frank, he visited him zero times (lance KOQ, Noah, LEE) .

The knicks have been down right horrible defending the perimeter since Rambis got here, and it's not the players (its been 72 different players), it's the philosophy.

If we were over achieving guess who would be getting all the credit..JEFF FCKNG HORNACEK..RIGHTFULLY SO..

WHEN i see THJ, lance, frank, ect, completely turned their back on the player they are guarding(who's set up behind the arc) to ball watch and run to the paint to prevent a lay up and forget about the kick out and effort they put forth to close out, and the rotations and the shiiit is contagious, because

That was not the WAY THJ WAS DEFENDING LAST YEAR IN ATL

What are these players learning if they are committing the same mistakes over and over and over, and worse , there is ZERO ACCOUNT ABILITY, just a pat on the back...That's not real coaching. You see pop yank his entire starting 5 out after 5 minutes of of awful play.

Let me make this clear, I'm not saying Jeff is a BAD coach, I'm saying he is not the Right coach for this JOB, just like i said about woodson toward his end, he is more suited to be an assistant. Exactly in the role he is now

I think that the Knicks FO has a trust relationship with Hornacek. While a good season is always welcome, the Knicks have a long way to go and everyone with a brain knows it.

JH is a good-enough coach for this team and if he remains he may enjoy a long tenure as Knicks coach. He's a Sloan disciple which is a good thing. He also is profoundly decent in dealing with the players, the press, and the fans. He can't be happy with losing.

The fact that a player as clueless as Tim Hardaway is lecturing the players shows what a lack of player basketball IQ there is on this squad (and this includes Poorzingis).

If Jay Wright or Tony Bennett wants to come here, I could see a change. But just to recycle JH for another retread? God, I hope that doesn't happen

I agree. Who is available that is clearly better? Doc? MJax?

Ideally, I'd love to find the next Brad Stevens but I don't know who that is.

Jeff runs a good offense. This team does pretty well offensively. I think they have improved this year. Defensively there is a disconnect. Is it the players fault or Jeff's? I think NY has too may guys that dont give the right energy on D or are just low IQ.

Rambis has had 2 years and there is no D improvement. AS the D coach, he definitely needs to go.

There really arent any rock star coaches out there, in their prime. A college coach worth his salt will probably wait until the Knicks are a more cohesive unit. Unless Hornacek loses the team in a big way between now and the end of the season, I dont see a much better alternative, while the Knicks build a contender.

Rambis isn't the D coach, they changed that at the beginning of the year

Hey, we have to blame somebody, right?
Funny, Nigel Hayes credits Rambis for fixing his shot and perhaps making his career.

So we want to blame the coach, assistant coach, and of course players!!
We as fans know what's up?

When u answer the bottom question the answers should decide whether Horn stays another season ..

How many games we won last season? 31 win season!
How many games does it look like we are gonna win in the 2017-18 season? Maybe 29 wins?
How well did our offense and defense formation look throughout the season?
How well did the Knicks perform in the 2nd half of games this season?
How well did Hornacek develop last season young players on the roster?
And how well did the coaching staff develop the Knicks young players throughout this season?
How much are we paying Noah? And how many seasons are on Noah's contract?
GM Perry could not trade Noah's contract at the February deadline.
Hornacek prove to be clueless in setting up a co-existing tandem backcourt, and clueless of setting up a frontline Big to rebound throughout two seasons.

After the Noah incident (probably would have loss 18 straight instead of 17 of 18 if noah was around) i was done with JH

Sources had told ESPN in late December that the Suns, despite the organization's well-known fondness for Hornacek, were forced to contemplate a coaching change far sooner than they hoped because of a slide that had dropped them to 11th place in the Western Conference. There also was a growing fear within the organization that the team was no longer responding to its head coach.

Hornacek — an ex-Suns guard who finished second in Coach of the Year balloting in 2013-14, his rookie season — took the fall for a Phoenix team that has lost 19 of 21 games and 14 straight on the road. Yahoo! Sports first reported Hornacek’s ouster.

If I was JH I would stepped down, he was hired to be PHILS puppet, and now he's playing himself coaching another non talented team, clearly showing he has no business in that kind of role..

The same sht that happen with his last gig is coming full circle with his very next gig.

May be you right and Rambis will tank even better...
But who knows... If you have a sure thing why gamble with unknown?
