I agree with you but am curious as to what options that could possibly leave us with? Who fits this build that is a free agent in 2018 at a reasonable price or available via trade or that we could get around pick 12 in the lottery?

Paul George is the only FA that would be a clear upgrade. The only question is whether we want to go all in on him but we certainly could work at a trade with OKC, if George is will to leave. I know he wants to play in LA, but really, I think the Knicks are the better team with his addition. Other than George, there are a few younger unproven guys that we could after and hope they develop. But if you are going to pay a top salary, which is what KCP will command, then you should sign someone who fits exactly what you need and KCP is undersized for the SF spot.

Trading a few guys on short contracts for Kidd-Gilchrist is probably an option for a guy who meets that criteria. A lineup of KP, Beasley, MKG, hardaway and ntilikina in an intriguing mix of offense and defense.

My prejudice is for players that aren't challenged either on the offensive or defensive side. Kidd-Gilchrist, IMO, fits that description.

I'm pretty sure he meant what REALISTIC options we'd have and unfortunately P.George isn't realistic for us. If he wasn't supposedly so set on going to the Lakers and would take a real look at the Knicks then i think he'd see that he would be a great fit on this team playing with KP, Timmy and Frank. He would instantly become our #1 player over KP and Kp can go back to being a dominant #2 player.

PG--Frank/T.Burke
SG--Timmy/D.Dotson
SF--P.George/C.Lee
PF--KP6/draft a R.Williams or another PF
C--R.Williams/Billy/Noah
